That an awesome haul. So many cool tools. The plastic handle screwdrivers will look great once cleaned up and displayed somewhere. Just found your channel I'll be back. Thanks for sharing.

The little red handled at 4:50 is a "split screw driver". Place a flat headed screw in it, slide the handle toward the screw, the head will split into the screw holding it, so you can start a flat headed screw. Flat file 11:25 sparkplug file, can be used for cleaning points on distributor and gapping, but intended use sparkplug file. Power Master hand drill, was knockoff, cheaper of the Yankee drill company, also made for GTE / ATT. I love my old push Yankee drills!!

Thanks for the info John. I do know how to use the QuickWedge screwdrivers. I actually used one and the power master drill in a video, that I have edited yet. I also just cleaned up the Tungsten file. I thought it would be used for points, but I did not think about using it for sparkplugs. Thanks again and Thanks for watching! Have a happy and prosperous new year! :)

I think the small tungsten file you have is used to clean up the points on automotive type breaker point ignition systems. I have a Craftsman just like yours, but it's not marked "tungsten."

I had that in mind as I was filming, but I was not sure and I try not say things that are incorrect. Thanks for reinforcing my memory! 👍😀👍

As someone who spent a few years in the structural steel business using cutting torches, I find that lighter to be really neat.........A little quick searching and it seems they're still available today and they have a few versions, one with a cup on the end like you would use to light a cutting or plumbing torch..........Also really like that Bakelite screwdriver.........Lot of great stuff for 5 bucks.

Thanks for the info. I have not had a chance to look into it. I did try to find both the patents based on the date, but I struck out. If I look harder I might find them yet, but his video was taking too long to edit as it was. There was a larger size of the bakelite screwdriver, but it was cracked so I left it behind.

Hi James, what a super haul you got there! Skarsten scrapers are often seen over here, the ones I see are plain wooden handled, not seen one like yours before. I thought the curved rasp thing was interesting, reminds me of a surform rasp, maybe it is but I've only seen flat ones. And the micro nesting screwdriver was brill! All the best for 2024

The round rasp at 1:10 looks to be a Stanley Surform. If you're not familiar with those, Stanley started producing them in the mid 50's and still makes them today. They made all different types and shapes. Big ad campaign for them in the 70's with guys like Phil Esposito endorsing them for shaping his hockey sticks. I love finding them at sales, great for any kind of rough out work. The file at 4:50 is made by American Swiss File Co. The pattern is called a riffler file. Early 1900's -? The scraper at 7:10 is really neat. Would love to see a clean up video on that. I haven't heard of that company. The tools at 11:35 are called Bristol spline wrenches, or L-keys. They are used in specialty stuff like avionics, HVAC systems, radios, air brakes, etc. The ignitor at 14:05 is funny to me because I just picked one of those up yesterday at a peddlers mall. The vendor was there and we were talking about how we both had not seen one before and he said, "Who knows, haven't seen one before, but that's not to say you won't see 10 more now after this." What are the odds of that? What a score for $5, great haul.

Very nice haul, especially for $5. Good way to see off the old year. The variety of tools you find is always interesting. I have some very good VLCHEK sockets and open end wrenches, but I have never come across a screwdriver. VLCHEK was a Cleveland Ohio company that I think was founded by Czech immigrant family. Not sure. Thanks for the interesting videos. Merry Christmas.
