I’m going to be cutting a foam mat, about 3”, for a quarter berth bunk, so it was nice to see someone who tackled a similar project with about the same level of “knowing what their doing” that I have

Thanks for the vid it gave me courage to grab my Sawzall and go for it rather than return the mattress . Took 5” off the length no issues.

Some mattresses have fiberglass in them and that's why the tag says to not open the cover or remove it. I hope yours didn't have it! Fun video!

Bro you are a lifesaver my missus have been trying to buy one of these for god knows how long we've had mattress toppers we've had mattresses that have Haddon the Statue of Liberty I have not heard about this green tea technology but my missus had heard about the gel technology I found you on KZfaq we were both really really happy you may have just saved our marriage love u bro keep up the good work

Nice video! Do you remember if the individual foam pieces were loose when you opened up the cover? Or, was there spray adhesive holding them together. I've got a pop up camper I'm thinking about cutting to fit, and if 6" inches won't allow the roof to close, I'll remove the 1" middle layer.

I got a free 12" from someone moving. Im guessing they will be moving in with someone who already has a better bed!! Im about to pick up a sawzall from someone else to cut my 2x4s for the frame... Now i know i will not have to pick up an electric carving knife as well. I'm about to slice up a 12" queen to make it a 6" same dimensions as yours ... Such fun

Thanks for the video this is really helpful for our van conversion! Any issues with fiberglass??? I’ve heard things about this mattress having fiberglass when removing that cover and it worries me to cut and sleep on!

I need to modify a mattress to replace the bunk beds in the Imagine just like the one in your background. Those beds have a curve at one corner, and your memory foam mattress will work great to replace the mushy mattresses Grand Design installed. thanks

It definitely made its fair share of those little fuzzies when I cut it, but not enough to be a concern.

Zinnus is being sued by consumers because there is fiberglass in the mattress. I hope you weren't exposed to the glass while cutting it.

Do you actually need the 12 inch mattress? Like, do you think it's better for heavier people as in they may sink in too far on the 6 inch mattress?

Good question. I prefer the 6” because there is less give too it.

What did you wrap the mattress in after you cut it? Do they have custom zip sheets or something to put the new cut foam in?

I wrapped it back up in the original material that it came in. It doesn’t fit quite as well but it does the job.
