heck yeah, as long as it gets the job done! and that makes sense...with all that ice you were buying, investing a little more in something substantial would definitely pay off. Good tip on the ice pack, too!

My Roadie has kept ice in the back of my truck in SoCal summer heat for 6 days now. The ice is still hard. Only a bit has melted. I use a Yeti ice pack on the bottom.

I had that same pelican cooler and sold it for a Yeti. It was nice but you would get 2 days at most when its in the 90s. also it was slimmer so it would tip over easily if you stand or sit on it. the yeti holds a bit more and has higher build quality so its worth the extra money

@@chucknorris277 I've got multiple old basic colemans/igloos from 80s/90s/00s, kodi (generic yeti) and yetis. The old colemans/basic plastic cooler can have their purposes but they are nothing like a yeti/kodi/rotomolded cooler. The ice lasts 50% to 75% less, so going hunting or camping for the week it's a huge difference. They don't have great latches or hardware that can last years and years. nearly all my old plastic coolers don't have any latches or hardware (thankfully! Lol). I don't use them much anymore but keep them around for the nostalgia of camping as a kid plus I got a big garage with lots of room for storage lol. My favorite are the kodi branded ones bc they are 95% of what the yetis are and cost approx 50 to 70% less. The yeti roadie 24 is currently $250 - we got ours as a gift. I paid $220 for my kodi 125qt and $220 for my kodi 50 qt with big 10" no flat wheels/telescopic pulley handle. Vs $600 & $400 for yeti versions. So $440 vs $1k. Granted most people pay 25% more than I paid bc I got a great deal but still huge cost difference vs retail yeti for 95% the same product. Our company uses yeti exclusively for parties for the about the last decade (i.e. Week long summer beach party/long weekend at the lake/nightly Xmas party.... so I've got extensive yeti useage) and while I love the yeti brand my kodis last just as long with all the same features, so my colemans/igloos stay put and until I win the lottery I won't be buying more yetis.

I'll be diving into the 45s next, and then probably the 35 after that. My guess is that the story is quite similar to the roadie 24 vs rtic 20 story. Yeti is probably the most well thought out

Freeze those water bottles and put them in your cooler frozen the night before to pre chill the cooler and slightly/mostly unfreeze the water bottles for use in the next few days. The next day pull those mostly frozen water bottles out and put a frozen ice pack on the bottom (lots of different brands do the same thing - help ice last longer and keep the cooler colder vs just ice) and or sides of the cooler. I have thin ones and thick ones for different use scenarios/different size coolers. Then put those slightly unfrozen water bootles and some ice in. Then your pre chilled cans/etc pack it tight. Air is the enemy. Ice/few more semi frozen water bottles all the way to the rim of the cooler. Shut it and enjoy for days to come!

I'm actually cutting it in half tomorrow and then publishing the video this Saturday. You should just do it, record it, and post the video on KZfaq yourself. If it ruins the cooler, the money you make from views will certainly make up for it. If it doesn't ruin the cooler, then you are all profit, plus some. Get a patent on the drain, make a deal with Yeti, and then you can get a girlfriend for each day of the week. Good luck !!

Meaning if you pay $300 for one now then in 40 years it will have been like $400,000 or something like that????? Once again, based on your math. I’m still not sure that 20 dollars compounds up to 40k in 40 years based on an average CPI of around 2.5%. But it is early and I may not be thinking straight.
