I've always thought a greenburst Les Paul Custom would look really good - turns out, I was right! It takes vibes from a heavily aged Silverburst Les Paul Custom, but tweaks it a bit. The Super 400 inlays are just icing on the cake!

My favorite green finish is kind of rare because it’s not even supposed to be green. It’s a vintage Pelham blue where the yellowing clear coat on top of the blue creates this really really cool, almost metallic looking shade of green. I call it Pelham green. It’s amazing The fact it’s an unintentional result of a natural process makes it even cooler. I think the Murphy Lab or just the Custom Shop have tried to recreate this. I’m not sure if they did, or how it turned out.

Many cars are painted with an under or base coat to affect the final finish. Gold silver and black are often used to so to insure you cover the base coat. I'm sitting over here looking at my Studio Greenburst . I've got no supr 400 inlays of course and the fret board is a lighter rosewood with fot inlays which look like whiteor silver mother of pearl except for one of the dots closer to the yellow side markers on the 12th feet which is yellow. It has Seymour Duncans for pickups and the same type of bridge and tail piece as the one being reviewed. The tuners are grocers and appear to have been on since the beginning. The face of the headstock has typical style logo that looks to be a silk screen along with Les Paul model on the face. Also the face looks to have been sprayed with a black and green over the base . All logos are prominently gold in color. But it has all black plastics. Not sure if the truss rod cover is original since it's a two ply with the Les Paul signature instead of saying Studio. The knobs also to be the same color as the headstocks face with gold numbers. Of course its speed knobs. Its a great guitar that I picked up for about $1200.

The tone on that guitar is MONSTEROUS! Unreal! When you started playing Schism, I couldn't get over how incredible that guitar sounded. Great purchase, man, consider me VERY jealous! Plus the green is just SO rad.

That is such a solid guitar. It wants to be played. Always thought greenburst was a awesome LP color. Not sure why it's not more common.

Austin, I feel like people at Gibson are paying attention to you because of course and also because there have been a lot of stingers popping up in the mod shop. I've seen other things you say come to light over there as well. Let's hope they keep listening and read the comments so they can get some criticism from the people that love them and tailor their releases accordingly! Here's hoping!

They're paying attention to him all right. They wouldn't even sell him the 50K Greeny replica because they didn't want him to flip it, although other people ended up doing just that. Pretty dumb when the guy is basically a big marketing tool for Gibson guitars

@JokersWild70 yep. However, if they were to start doing favors for him or even paying him, it would maybe taint his "all opinions are my own" credibility. As it stands, you can count on him to tell you exactly what he thinks. If Gibson were to get involved, it might bias him or at least seem like it did. They just need to be quiet, pay attention, and realize just how important he is to them.

I wish trogly would use his influence on gibson/epiphone to reissue the epiphone flying v bass. I also wonder if I should get a epiphone adam jones artwork because no one has said for sure we will get a regular adam jones aged silverburst without anything but the silverburst on the back of the body

Those are planer marks on the fretboard, so yeah, they are tooling marks. Has nothing to do with the wood itself
