How does a non-diabetic get a 4.4% A1c? I put a Libre 14-Day CGM on my friend to see what's really happening in her blood sugar. Get more from Ginger: www.GingerVieira.com
Can non-diabetics learn about their blood sugars from using a continuous glucose monitor like a Libre or Dexcom? I dared my best friend to wear a CGM for two weeks and we learned a lot about her blood sugar levels.

This made me laugh. I kept expecting her to snarkily say to you, "To quote Bill Clinton, 'I feel your pain," but that would have made you even more upset. LOL. You both seem like great friends. It is frustrating for all of us T1Ds to have to work so hard to maintain good numbers, and non-diabetics do it perfectly and effortlessly. I became a diabetic in my early 20s. Before that happened, I never once thought about glucose in my blood. Great video.

That is because Tara has probably eaten in moderation for most/all of her life. A T2 diabetic if they have any hope of all in reversing diabetes has to be much more careful. And in the end will most likely never approach their youthful pre-diabetic state. You will always have to watch what you eat. Good channels to watch are Jason Fung (MD), ken Berry (MD), Adapt Your Life (Dr. Eric Westman), Dr. Sten Ekberg, & Beat Diabetes.

That was fun! I'll never do another sensor where I have to get up during the night to scan it. No thanks. And why are you doing carbs? You could probably handle complex carbs - broccoli, spinach, cabbage. But pizza, really? Thanks for the idea of scanning KZfaq for CGM users and data. It can be fricking overwhelming.

im currently 91% in range and 2 months back a1c was 4.9 he told me aim for 5.8 3 months earlier .. my meals are mostly eggs dairy n meat but i do eat chocolate everyday .. i take alot of stuff thats suppose be good for my immune system and likely got some pancreas workin still .. my sensor does'nt seem very accurate aswell so my stats are likely better than they show, sometimes it says ive spiked to as high as 16.0 but i test with finger prick and can be as much as 5 lower .. said i was 2.9 2 days ago when i was in the pub drinkin, i did a test i was 4.2 .. i dont get very good readings because i take vitamin c suppliments i believe tho its a good guide, i want to see a sensor on someone who eats like more than half the world, like someone gong macdonalds .. surely they spike after like 300gram of carbs n sugar in a hour or so .. find a less healthy friend plz haha ive wanted to do this myself with my mates already just as refference

The better question is if you are a type 1 why the hell arent you using an insulin pump tied to a dexcom.
@DiabetesNerd
@DiabetesNerd Күн бұрын
hahahaha I hate pumps. And Dexcom costs a bijillion more $$$. I prefer MDI + Afrezza. I've managed an A1c in the 5s without all the tediousness of pumps. My skin, in particular, hated infusion sites. It's good we have options. Because everybody prefers different things.

@@DiabetesNerd im lucky i was just pre diabetic so i wore a cgm for a month to plan my diet. The glue on the cgms is damn annoying so i can understand why you wouldnt like that. Friend wears a insulin pumo and it makes his life much easier but at the gym he has to be drinking sugar based gatorade to keep from going into a coma. Seen him go low one time and i told him he should have some candy or something in the office in case of emergency. Seems the tech keeps getting better and now they are figuring out how to fix betta cells so there could be a cure. Surprising considering how much the insulin companies would loose in profits.
