at University, our lecturers told us something really useful that I think would be useful for you? “You can never master anything in art because there’s always something more to learn” which was something that I found helped me with my art because I was also, a perfectionist who wanted to ‘master’ everything.

My adhd makes me meltdown from time limits too, so I got by the checklist idea - it’s not 30 days, it’s do/finish this checklist of 30 things. Completely frees up my mind, and I end up finishing early usually haha.

you don't have to be confident to do an art challenge! it doesn't have to be super perfect or anything, especially if it's for improvement~ it might even be good coz if you constrict yourself to only working on a prompt for a day, you won't be able to dwell on it for a long time

Both harsh and comforting, a double-edged sword, no one's gonna care as much as you do, so JUST GO FOR IT! (Hardest part is usually just starting and then knowing when to finish)

If you want to do an easy-ish anime human drawing/sketching challenge, I can recommend the 30-day quick sketch anime people art challenge by the youtuber Art Senpai. It’s probably a good exercise for beginners because it’s supposed to be a quick sketch for 30 minutes and not a full drawing, and he posts reference images and his own sketches and you can see other people‘s work in the google drive folder. I do it too (didn’t upload yet tho, I restarted the challenge yesterday bc I kinda misunderstood what a quick sketch was) and it’s nice.

I've never been able to finish one of these 30 day challenges. Even though I nearly draw multiple times every day, something about having to make a completed illustration every day for that long is so fucking hArd And even though I knoooww it technically doesn't need to be a completely finished drawing I simply ✨*pressure myself*✨ into it

THE MERE FACT YOU HAVE THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF BRAIN ROT THAT I DO OF AKANE AND JUNPEI AND THE ZERO ESCAPE SERIES AS A WHOLE IS SO REASSURING!!! This gives me motivation to do a 30 day challenge! I've always been deterred because "I WONT be able to finish it in 30 days. I dont have THAT much motivation to draw every single day." But this just tells me, take your time. You dont have a time limit. Even if you do 1 prompt a month, that's fine. I've been meaning to get back into art, and this really gives me motivation :)

Tbh you finishing the 30 day think even after the deadline was long past is super motivational to me; i easily get frustated when results sdon't come fast and wind up not finishing a LOT of wips and plans just because i get sad with my lack of skill, but sometimes you just gotta be sttuborn and do it anyways.( and you did so many backgrounds too, golly gosh, backgrounds take a lot of effort) Those longer painting/drawainng videos are just super pleasant to watch and hear you thought process. It's neat, very fun~

I know you are probably not going to see this June but I saw this video and thought “ I should do this. What could possibly go wrong “. I went a head and did a rough sketch for a lot of them and then got to the backgrounds parts and thought I was going to die because I might hate it and never want to do background again and when I tell you I did two sketches I started to fall in love with backgrounds now I can’t stop thinking and drawing them now every drawing is going to have a background and I love and hate it. I genuinely believe this video helped me improve on my own art. Seeing someone's step-by-step process, or even just a timelapse of it like this video helps me see how anatomy is formed, how all different types of poses and features can be drawn easily if you just take the time to study or even just reference. This video helped me so much with my anatomy, seeing you break it down into sections before lineart helped me figure out how your anatomy style is structured (I was always into a cartoon-ish anatomy while still looking realistic, if that makes sense. This helped me so much, thank you.) edit: just realized how repetetive this was, so sorry about that.

Challenges are so much more fun when you're able to go at your own pace. Sometimes I can do one in 5 days and sometimes it takes me months before I even touch a challenge. I'm glad you got to grow in the areas you wanted to with this one! Backgrounds are fun but they are TOUGH when you haven't built the muscle. I mostly get my practice in through comics and the once-in-awhile full illustration. Congrats on completing the challenge! :D

I didn't know your channel before this video, and I'm really glad I do now, because you're such a good vibe 😆 When I saw this video, I decided to do the challenge myself. I was not looking for improvement or something before, however I started it two weeks ago ! I'm also more into drawing characters, so I was really impressed by the difference it makes on my backgrounds too !! its incredible to see you improve and change and find your own style over the years. i've been following you for maybe half a decade (since i was very young) and its crazy to see how similar my art process has become to other artist's as i've improved. i found myself saying "hey, i do that!" to alot of your comments on backgrounds and perspective. i'm also a heavy character artist and need some serious practice in backgrounds, and i think you've just inspired me to try. thanks !

I get so excited whenever you mention Zero Escape!!!!!! It completely changed how I think about writing stories and characters!!!!!! And how you draw Junpei and Akane makes me ugly sob (but in a good way)!!!!! I love them so much!!!!!

Hey at least you finished it! I would say that’s worth a pat on the back. As someone who does those month long challenges A LOT I completely understand how hard it is to find time for them or trying to come up with ideas for them. Your video low key makes me want to try this challenge despite me having a ton of other art shit I need to work on. Great job as always!

oh my god June this is AMAZING!!! You did such a wonderful job on these - your range on what you can draw and the artstyles you can tackle are phenomenal!! I've actually been trying really hard lately to make my art look more professional, so I've been trying different artstyle challenges and stuff, so I definitely will give this 30 day art challenge a try sometime!

Whenever you upload I always wait to watch the video until I feel really shitty, because you bring me so much comfort with how you talk and how your videos look and how amazing your art is. And yesterday I was really close to having a meltdown and then you uploaded and i watched it straight away and it made me very happy :D

I love rewatching your videos June cuz it gives me a shit ton of inspiration and energy! Your energy and voice are very contagious and fun! Also ngl kinda glad you changed styles a bit cuz while I loved your illustration style I was very worried over you animating in that style lmaooo So happy to see your art transition!

When you were making the Ben and Garnet piece and finishing around the 18:14 mark, I think it looks darling! I love backgrounds and all, but by GOD are they difficult as all hell do make. But you can tell a lot about a character/person by simply what environment they're in, which is why this challenge you've done has inspired me to TRY and crank out more of my own backgrounds; even if they're just concept drafts!

I remember when I did this challenge like 5 years ago T-T it really is aptly named. I definitely didn't put as much effort into it as you've done here though XD Anyway, all of your drawings turned out sooo good, the background heavy ones are especially impressive. Congrats on finishing this, even if it took a bit longer than 30 days!
