Morning coffee with Hillary and Pete. That is a real treat. Famous bad jokes, strolling through the hen house, seeing the tractors, watching the piggers, and feeling the warm weather .... what a calming effect. But I did not hear Patty complain about her food... maybe next time. Thank you for your delightful gift.

Pete I feel the same way you do. I didn’t go up on my egg prices when the others did. I had one customer ask me if I was going up. I said, no sir, I went up when feed went up. I have no reason to go up now. I value my customers. Thank you for sharing your life with us on here all the time. Enjoy the videos.

Pete, you are right about prices and the relationship with your customers at the farmers market. I was approached early in the season at our farmers market a couple years ago by new vendor that wanted me to raise my prices for kale and mustard greens. I explained that I was fine with my prices because I knew my production cost. My customers come looking for me every year and I really appreciate them and they appreciate me. I sold everything I brought that day, as usual. Seeing he was frustrated, I asked him what was his problem. He said it was that my bags of greens were twice the size of his for half of his price. He stood at his table all morning and I didn't see him sell anything. I also gave him my opinion about colluding and price fixing. I don't think he embraces the concept capitalism. He came to sell one more Saturday then I never saw him again.

Pete, you have officially taken the top spot in my mind as far as KZfaq channels go. You and Evan, from Country View Acres, both do a great job providing entertaining but also informative content without becoming the pushy salesmen. I know sponsorships pay the bills in many cases on here, but some channels have become grossly consumed by pushing products. I can't wait to see the 756 restoration next winter. Your TRUE love for what you do is evident in all your videos!

But the bad feed causing chickens to stop laying is conspiracy!!! Pete is has a brilliant mind and has accomplished much. That said, I was disappointed in his doubting the word of so many homesteaders who have also raised chickens for years and through trial and error realized it was the feed that was the cause of their chickens laying less. Not conspiracy theory at all.

I wonder if you have ever watch any from Geirok Farms. They are another small farm operating in WI on land that is extremely hilly. They take excellent care of their equipment and are also aware of the importance of preventive maintenance. From MI here. I rate them as a close favorite to Pete's channel. Hope you don't mind my suggesting this. It is so nice to have places to watch that are fun, informational and entertaining.

My hubby always got a head start..getting the machinery in tip top condition...as soon as haying season was over...he kept the tractor up for we needed it to help out through the bitter cold winters..ploughing out the high wind blown drifts...so we could get to barn to feed the livestock...it was never ending..once the snow was gone he got the 2 acre garden ready for me with it..then re-serviced it again for the big hay challenge...coming up in the 1st. of july.....our Red massy Ferguson...was the only tractor we had... it was a work horse....but he made sure it was always up and going to do the task at hand....the only piece of machinery that gave us problems was our old new Holland baler...know matter how many times that was in the repair shop...over that knotter on the left side...next to the tire side of the machine...would eventually start breaking shear pins...on every third bale...he had to stop get off and hand tie that side of hay...every year..it would do this..when we sold the farm..this equipment went with it..we attached a note to that side of the baler...good luck with this, here is a new box of shear pins...every third bale..????. I think that baler was haunted.......

That view from the seat of the 756 reminds of being a little kid riding on the neighbors brand new 1066 in the early 70s. The 1066 took over from his 706 as the big horse on the farm. It went straight from the delivery truck to pulling a new 5 bottom plow about an hour later. I got to ride on the fender that day and boy did it sound good. The Mrs neighbor couldn't believe he was going to take it straight from the truck to getting it dirty. He had work to do - ok, he wanted to play with it.
