At least the family is safe. However, I don't think the guy was an Uber or any taxi driver because if you asked him to show the sticker than he shouldn't have gotten mad in the first place. So what you did is good because we always need to confirm who is driving you to your destination

Glad you listened to your gut, from what I've heard Florida is one of the hot spots in the USA for human trafficking. I don't know if that was what the guy was up to but given your description of his behavior I can tell you with 100% certainty that his intentions were less than pure.

Looking back at this video now and knowing how often human trafficking occurs in theme park parking lots is truly terrifying. Glad y’all got out of that situation safe and sound.

If I were an Uber Driver/taxi/ect, I would 100% not hesitate to prove it, let alone be pushy or get mad. Sure, I'd feel horrible if I creeped someone out, but it's not their fault for having doubts about getting into a stranger's car. There's no way that guy was an Uber. I'm so glad everyone was ok.

This is why even when you do order an Uber, you never go like "Are you [name]?" because they can just say yeah. If you believe you see an Uber, ask for their name, and if they give the one you are expecting, that's it.

I’m going to assume this was in Florida, and as a Floridian, I apologize. You encountered someone impersonating a Uber driver. As someone who takes uber daily, you gotta watch out for those kinds of people. Uber has this neat little trick where you can verify the driver that will pick you up (like holding up a color on your phone, or specifying a certain pick up spot, but you probably knew that.😅) Disney and Universal can be a hot spot for those kinds of guys. Always make sure to check, especially now. Holidays bring out those guys/girls like cockroaches

You all made the right call not getting into the car it could have ended very badly. its sad but it is not entirely uncommon for people to fool tourists like this, driving the people away to a predetermined location to be either robbed or worse. when traveling to an unfamiliar area if your gut says it isnt right. listen to your instincts

As a Floridian myself I can confirm that crocodiles (or alligators since theres a whole lot more of those around) aren't the only thing you need to worry about, there's the heat, (But you get used to it after 15 years) theres the weather (Completely unpredictable, I was actually surprised when I first learned that there are actual states that can predict the weather accurately) and then of course theres the the weird people (basically everyone even myself) also known as the Florida Man/Men (or women) you'll be surprised about how many weird encounters I've had here but its basically the usual at this point but other than that Disney Worlds pretty great, I can also confirm that many Floridians also call the Epcot ball a giant golf ball, honestly they should officially re-name it that at this point

Definitely a creepy guy trying to get people into his car. Probably would've been worse if he knew you were a KZfaqr. Steven D animated a story where a trafficking ring tried to lure out a small Instagram influencer and a female friend of hers out to Miami using an old account, but the influencer brought a male friend instead and the two were lucky the trafficking ring wasn't interested in one guy and one girl.

All I can say is this is bonkers and I am glad that you guys manage to get out of the situation okay. Also happy that you and your family had the most fun of your life before that fiasco happened.

Good thing that you're safe. Who knows what that fake Uber Driver would've done if you went along without checking if there's a sticker on his car. It could've ended up so, so much worse than just robbing you. If someone would try to shove me in like that I'd be irritatingly throw him down the ground head first so he'd feel how bad it is to lure people in without explanation. Sorry about my troubled mindscape, but when it comes to stories where something bad happened to great people like Jordan or Wolfy, I wish I would've been there to rush into the action and prevented it from happening.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry that happened to you guys!! I never ever take Uber or bother to try. My sister always jokes about it or brings it up on how I should because I can't drive or have a license. But, so many recent stories on Uber drivers being fake make me terrified and I just don't want to risk it. I'm glad you guys had fun at Disney! First and last time I was at Disney in Florida was for a band competition in high school. I played Bari sax for jazz and one of the judges claimed he played Bari before and made very sexist remarks towards me and how I played. The other judges rated us 90+ while he rated us 60+ points... not only did that dampen my trip, but my friends kinda ditched me so I spent a good portion of the trip kinda alone. I really want a redo of Disney one day because that trip was honestly kinda depressing for me 😂😭

This trip to DisneyWorld/Universal Studios Florida sounds like a real adventure, with or without the shady guy and his van. P.S. I went to the Rainforest Cafe in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 2010, and I haven't gone to one since. I really wish someone would take me. The atmosphere alone is worth repeat visits, not to mention my dad was making faces at the crocodile animatronic. It made for a funny picture, let me tell you.

I had a similar fake Uber experience in New York City but thankfully it ended in a good way. 5 mounted policemen charged through Times Square to chase down the scammer after I gave the driver $250. The police arrested the guy and he returned my money. The Yellow cabs at the time charged a flat rate of $77 to/from JFK airport!

It's a good thing you didn't get in that car. Most uber drivers, Lyft drivers, or Taxi drivers will not only have a sticker or sign indicating they're one of those kinds of drivers, but they also wouldn't get mad over being asked if someone can see it to the point of driving away.

Wolfychu, I'm just glad you didn't have to deal with the rain. Last time I went down to Disney it was boiling, and making me just want to jump into a fountain, but before that it rained a whole load for the week I was there. To the point every time it rained my shoes would get soggy as heck! It poured, thunder appeared here and there, and the rain felt to the point your feet were on needles! Glad you did have a fun time and glad you're safe Wolfy!

i have a few friends who live in florida, and when i went there with my family (to disneyworld, universal, and magic kingdom) they warned me to stay with my family and be safe as theres lots of creeps, traffickers, and kidnappers in florida. i remember a lot of weird guys looking at me and getting worried, thankfully i usually had my dad behind my back and hes a big guy so i was ok. glad you and the others are safe tho!!

I got to see all sorts of places when I was younger, since my father worked as a band director and the summer trip always spared more than enough tickets for our family. We usually got to bring some friends, which was pretty great. One time at magic springs, there was a huge storm. No one got to the bus without getting drenched in rain, we were all pretty disappointed, and we had to go home sooner. But over all, I think it was pretty nice that we got to go at all.

excluding the last part and the heat issue, I found this summary quite sweet. I understand it's none of my business, but I would probably like to see how a souvenir montage from this trip would look like with the song "I Like the Way You Love Me" by Michael Jackson.

When my family was in Jamaica there was a line of taxis and when we were getting in one the guy behind it said he'd drive use for half price. We got in the second guys car and he told us the car we were about to get into was in human trafficking and kidnapped tourists. He was probably just messing with us but it's still a weird story
