I realized that first perfect year I was giving her everything...all those deep conversations was information gathering ...they weren't charming chats ..they were charming interrogations I describe a perfect soul mate and poof like magic there it was How to be perfect for me ...how to manipulate me The things I held strong convictions on It was easy for her to be perfect I basically gave her a blueprint Then you wake up one day .and you have run off all your friends and family..and your whole world revolves around them and you are nothing to them so they don't have to pretend anymore

@@c.aleb6 Not an excuse. I live with BPD as a result of childhood/young adult trauma, but have been in therapy for years. It makes my life harder, but it doesn't mean I can treat people badly. It also doesn't mean I'm inherently a monster or bad person. It means I have to work to overcome the impulses I have.

Same here. How nuts is it to hear the man explain a situation that we feel so well as children or partners of a narcisist. To know what it is like to be at your end and feel the dispair of being manipulated, cornered, gass lit so badly by someone you thought loved you and think that you must be going mad. Worse still is hard trying to unlearn what they taught you after you have left and trying to overcome the feeling that maybe we are like them who raised us. But we were never going mad. We were just going against our better judgement and trusting this person. But now I am free from that influence and life is so much better knowing we are not the same as them and that they are gone. I can't wait to see how well Johnny will go on after this.
