@@Cuestrupaster More like the priest cards getting completely reworked for overheal, hellfire being 3 mana, hex going back to 3 mana, drakonid operative going to 4 mana, witchwood apple being 3 mana total for 2 2/2s, muerte being an undead synergy card now, and woodcutter's axe giving any minion +2/+1 instead of just a rush minion. Not all of those are going to be meta just cause they've been buffed, but some of them are just completely different in their application, like holy champion being a tempo 2 drop now.

Perhaps, but at this point warrior could use a boring stat stick that helps them dealing with early boards.

I mean... there has almost always been at least one class that is meh. Warrior for years upon years always been able to fall back on attrition control style decks that as of late are intentionally actively being pushed against by blizzard. As a result a lot of older cards are much weaker. Just removing stuff with little to no win condition just doesn't cut it now a days. Most other control oriented decks like blood deathknight have other things to fall back on. Aka Alexandros for control matchups, patchwork for combo matchups, healing for aggro matchups, and astalor to finish things out. In comparison warrior just don't got shite. Priest for instance was trash for several of the earlier years of hearthstone. Rogue as well at times. Warrior is definitely hitting those unicorn priest levels of bad though.

Secret Eater should definitely have gotten the tradeable trait. It's a perfect card for it.

And holy champion is a 2 mana 1/4 that gains +2 attack on overheal. Skimming over the adjustments section missed a lot tbh. Hex at 3, hellfire at 3, witchwood apple is 3 mana total for 2 2/2s. That and all the 1/1s and 2/2s getting +1 health.

The thing is that there's already been 2 cards revealed that do what Shadowstep does and we thought would be replacing it. So it's really weird they're leaving Shadowstep in while adding more cards that do the same thing.

Maybe shadowstep should be nerfed to 1 mana instead.

They got Dyno back which is huge. Expect them to clear small boards consistently again. Discover means you'll see it more often so Mech Control Warrior will be the way to go imo.

@@Melissa31179 Sorry, but that's just wrong. Outplaying means you need to THINK how to counter your opponents threats and when to play your own. If you do mass mana cheat to create a board/game state your opponent can't handle, that's not outplaying your opponent, that's overwhelming him. Similar to Face/Smorc decks, which overwhelm there oponoents with tempo play (and hope they don't draw the right answer before they die).

it works exactly like bolf but for +3 mana, it loses to untargeted non-damage removal, it proved to be too slow and clunky for wild but maybe it can shine in standard? seems unlikely without cost reduction or ways to cheat out mal'ganis EDIT: my small brain apparently missed voidcaller which has the potential to singlehandedly make this combo a reliable one

@@Moumou_Roi_des_mouettes and totem shaman seems to be a thing too with eyezor and the new neutral totem, I was so disappointed with then new mage legendary and I thought they would only push big spells but with this new core set and sunken city still being in standard the hope for mech mage is back, I mean the class genre is ELECTRONIC, that fits too well to be a coincidence, this is shaping up to be the best expansion ever

I genuinely think that mechmage will be a very good deck first day of the expansion, all the core cards for it are still there.

Well I think you're focused on the wrong side of the board here. They buffed them because they were so bad to play due to how hero powers could instantly kill their minion. Despite them being a value generator of a card, you're only gaining the random card with no real sense of board presence to speak of. Other untouched 1 health 1 drops had effects to justify it as a target (i.e. Peasant and leper gnome) but these were seen as one use grab a random card and instantly die which wasn't worth it in 99% of meta games. It's an intuitive change and is somewhat interesting.

@Zayngster I think that's a good point. However, think of it another way - in the past this turn 1/1 value minion with a turn 2 hero power answer intrinsically made the games slower and less swingy. I didn't really mind that minions with great stats have been increasing given premium stats (Gorillabot A-3 for example) but with 1 and 2 drops, I dunno, now your less reliant on your hero power and more on tempo swing, whether that's a board clear or your own minion that has a good answer. We'll see when the new set comes out. But even in this meta most classes don't bother using their hero power unless they run out of draws, or their opening hand is that bad.

@The Haymaker well that's just it: if they run out of resources. That's why aside from rogue and warlock, a turn 2 hero power isn't the best of starts. I think what should help you better see this is what constitutes good these days in a given deck. It's why shaman went from tier 1 to 4 with 1 card nerf, why warrior has stunk for the majority of the year: archetypes are too swingy in their design. Regis mentioned this once during a general review of things during a nerf preview. They make so many tight packages that if any are bad, that class is just dead with no real options for change (hence why despite them admitting to want to fix warrior, they've only furthered its problems).

They feel too obligated to fill every slot with some archetype and it causes issues. I mean look at the new warrior cards as of today. They look like total ass for no real reason after all this hype of changes to standard.

I'm sure is more like expansion of the rogue. Remember what happened to Warrior a year ago, a top tier class due to both pirate and control, so it got murdered.

Rag might be able to see some play in a very specific combo deck (probably in shaman with criminal lineup), but I doubt it'll be all that impactful. Dr. boom on the other hand might be considering how strong deathrattle synergies in some classes are. If you can find a way to make him cheaper and then set off the boombots repeatedly, that might be insanely strong. At first glance, a card like death growl spreading their deathrattles to each other sounds decently powerful, maybe devourer of souls has some strong plays. Seems like a card that has potential to get better depending on what's released throughout the year, especially if they decide to buff it to 6 mana. Then again, it could also get no support and end up just being as-is, which is definitely underpowered. We'll have to see.
