As a technician ...Ram can be changed without changing mother board... You just need UFi box... You should make dump file for security data like Imei and do reballing again But service centre don't take risk 😊

But instead of changing entire PCB, they can only change the RAM & ROM by desolddering. Of course, it will take some time but you will have your existing IMEI number. Moreover, the arm architecture used is already supporting the higher ram & rom capacity. I would prefer desolddering.

This is nothing related to modular phone. It’s just a normal phone with company just replacing the motherboard. In modular phone users can do it by themselves. Without removing all of the components and without going to service centre.

He just swaped the motherboard I think if you have smartphone with two variants like A 4GB RAM 64GB ROM, B 6GB RAM 128 GB ROM you can just put the 'B'smartphone's motherboard to 'A' I really thought that the technician would desolder old ram&rom and replace new one
