Natalie Bennett ~ This was so sweet to see your very own videos of your family. I enjoyed watching and seeing you turn back time and recreate your home to make your home back in the 60s. I always wished we had video's of our family. I know my mom's family had slide projector pictures, more of a still life pictures. It was still fun looking at them to see family that aren't here no longer. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you your family.

You know what? I was wary about this video, I was worried that you were going to glorify years when mothers had really no other option but to be devoted to the home, which is true, but I feel proud having watched this. I am currently working on a dissertation on gender role representations in children's literature and my epigraph is the following: The history of childhood unfolds in the history of each gender. Countless transformations and avatars through which girls transit are particular to their gender and speak of other histories of history (Giberti). You, wonderful woman, are honoring all those women that came before you, in all their glory, with all their struggles. You bring forward what was the reality to thousand, if not millions, of women. Thank you for making this video in such a tasteful manner. Thank you for putting so much heart into your work.

Also, my own mother was born in 1964 and my grandma passed away 8 years ago, so it's a treat to be able to imagine what their family life was like, even if my mother's childhood occured in Colombia. Again, thank you.

I was 12 in 1967 and still remember those 60s Christmases. It was magical. Mom and both grandmas dressed up and so did Dad and grandpas. Tinsel on the trees and big lights.

You did a great job. I was born in the 60's so I remember well the blaring lights and the camera and the big screen we viewed home movies on a projector that turned the reels of film on....how far weve come these days. Another thing we had is aluminum christmas tree with a color wheel that projected color on the silver tree. It was quite an era and there are things i cherished about that time in life and yet glad women got a little more free from some of the expectations and stress of that time. Balance in everything and having some traditions and making our own too.

This and the Bits of Paradis 50s Christmas are my favorite videos! This video has that happy twinge of nostalgia. I try to live as simply as possible. We don't have a tv, we try to dress nicely always, I'm a housewife (by choice) and follow most of the original housewife cleaning routine. The hair is one thing I have never been able to master but I usually get my hair done once a week or every other week. I love how I can make a warm welcoming home for my family. I wish the home entertaining part would come back around in style. Thank you so much for sharing all of this! I have extremely find memories of my grandmother's house at Christmas time! It was definitely decorated in the 60s, especially at Christmas! My grandmother always used fine china for gatherings and didn't have a dishwasher. She did have several layered jellos in her routine.
