DIY walkthrough on replacing your Wayne Dalton iDrive / TorqueMaster setup with a real Torsion Spring setup, compatible with all garage door openers. Here's a link to a torsion spring conversion kit with everything you should need (except the torsion bar itself) at a great price: amzn.to/2AH8Dtn Keep in mind, you'll most likely need different springs than the ones in this list! You'll need to pick up a torsion bar at a local garage door company. You could call them and ask them what size springs you need and get a price from them while you're at it. It may not be much more than the on the list I linked to. Good luck!!!

FYI, the LiftMaster 8500 ROCKS!!! The Wayne Dalton iDrive was complete crap. If you're still rolling with the iDrive / TorqueMaster combo, you owe it to yourself to convert!

So what is the actual number for the complete conversion kit? I have a 14' x 7' insulated door. Didn't you have to weigh your door before ordering?

Just replaced the Torque master plus Springs today. They were broken, paid 198.00 for the whole kit. Replaced within 30 mins. The duty cycle for these Springs is 11k but I got close to 14k. The kit was expensive, maybe I’ll convert to something else if it breaks again.

Awesome video. I was able to go from a torque master plus system to a complete torsion system following your instructions. I thank you a million since by doing so I was able to save approximately $300.

Excellent video. I need to do similar. I see the Kit you bought but I don't see the actual bar that you mounted the springs on. Did this come with your kit?, or is this a separate purchase? I really appreciate the time you already took posting this video. Any addition information regarding the parts would be awesome. Thank you

Thanks, I was able to use this video to convert my broken torquemaster spring to the industry standard. I have a 16 foot door 9100 Wayne dalton door. I bought a conversion kit on ebay for 98 dollars. It came with everything except the spring bar. I bought that for 60 dollars. Works great. For spring winders. I bought a 36 inch peice of 1/2 inch rod and cut it in half with my Sawsall to get two 18 inch winding bars.

Josua... Great video...Thanks so much!! one question.. did you use the same tube from the Crapmaster or did you purchase a new tube? If the same tube did you run into any problems with the little hump on the outside of the crapmaster tube?
