Uncertainty and risk are integral parts of learning to live your life as a story. Dropping out of high school allowed me to leap into the life I wanted for myself. My obsession with french-absurdist philosophers and a specific city in the North of Italy lead to a new life for me and my projects. This is the beginning of a new era in my life and in what I hope to create for State Of Mind.

You know It's a boon to be able to have freedom,to have these new experiences everyday,to learn everyday,to grow everyday. But I've realized that life's beauty come from people you love and cherish. However many new wonderful strangers you meet in new countries they can't give you that sense of belonging you get from your oldest school friend that you don't you even talk to anymore. It's strange yet It's beautiful.

was almost surprised at the sudden mention of Camus, he's my favourite too and in hindsight i feel it was quite inevitable for me not to come across absurdism yet. loved this film, it shook me and reminded me and made me more aware of what i wish and where i am presently.

If you stayed in school, you would’ve read a few more pages from a few books.. and lost Life. Trust me, this is one of the best decisions you’ll ever have made and I wish I had too at that age. Wishing you many great adventures, stories and creations ahead!

Feels like you just showed the good parts about dropping out and moving out and skipped a lot of other issues that come with all of this, (especially the financial ones) making it look much easier than it actually is, hats off to you man takes a lot of guts to make the leap, great video.

At the moment he can get away with no high school diploma because he is young. Everybody is unsuccessful when they are 20. It will become more difficult when you are 30, 40 … though he has talent and work ethic. I hope he can create a good life.

@@ABC-jq7ve He enjoys learning and has passion and skills that will allow him to be successful at whatever he puts his mind to. He can start his own companies and won't need to worry about a degree. The future is changing much faster than we realize. And you can always go and get a degree at any age these days. I think Charlie will be fine.

I dropped out after two months of enrolling didn't even complete first semester, not going to dig into the reason or let's say reasons, i always wanted to get into culinary school but my father never allowed which was the reason i got into uni in the first place.... months after talking him into this he finally allowed me to go to culinary school but boom now the charges are very high pretty much out of my parents range and at this point i really feel like giving up on my career because it has been three years(i had to take three years gap... I had reasons) i am going around in circles and nothing seems to work out in my favour and while writing this i am kinda laughing because there was this time when i thought achieving my goals was easy all i had to do was hard work...guess i was just one unaware kid...I really want to rant more but i don't know where to start and where to end i am just really trying to figure out what God has in store for me

I just wanted to ask what you were doing before before (I am 15 and i want to do something amazing like you). when did you know to create this channel. why did you want to drop out and go to Italy of all places. who did you live with before? what jobs did you have to even get 2k? are your classmates jealous and stuff? pls reply edit:spelling

well when i was quite a bit younger i was a climate activist and won some awards from the work i was doing with my friend, we used the money we won to buy camera gear and started creating short films and documentaries. eventually i started making money freelancing videos and it's the only real job i've ever had. the most important part of my story was spending the years of 16-19 learning as much as i could - blender, filmmaking, philosophy, all of it. my goal was to start a youtube channel since i was 16 but i kept pushing it back for whatever reason. it wasn't until i hit my lowest point one year ago that i decided i needed to actually start the project i thought about 24/7. i assumed the channel would be successful in a few months even tho for the first 10 months i only had a few hundred subscribers. now, things are finally starting to grow and once i finish freelancing work i'm going to start posting regularly. in my opinion it's all about learning. if you learn useful skills when your younger great things will just be possible in the future. hope that helps haha

@@State-Of-Mind heck, this definitely helps. thanks first for responding! its great that you wanted to help out in the world when you were younger. you really did do the right things to get where you are now which is first: not give up, but also just learn skills and then eventually TAKE ACTION. i want to make meaningful youtube videos but it is so competitive imo. what do you think are mistakes that you learned from that i can avoid when i partake on my journey. (i just turned 16 and i think its great how you dropped out of college senior year (dope), but when Im 19 how much would i have actually done to set myself up to move and live on my own?)

I just found your channel. What you did was really brave yet at that time and place a necessary step towards reclaiming the essence of life. I get you. I did the same.
