Big bait big fish has almost always been true. Over half the fish come off the rods straight off the sides and back of the boat for us. Those were some nice blues. It all depends on what you're fishing for. The lower gear ratio has more power, but the high gear ratio lets you pick up line faster.

The other day I hooked up to a massive tire. After an hour of a drag pulling, rod bending battle I finally got it to shore, and right as I reached for the net it broke my rod, reel, and popped my line. Then I slipped and fell in the river.
