Hey Lisa, I've been testing ea's for 4 years now, 99% are no good, ie risk to reward ratio bad, coder bugs, forgetting trades, needing too much equity etc I have found a small handful of good eas among the thousands I've tested and just started a copytrading account for one that is very reliable. I'm now just focusing on that and a few other ea's while manual trading, the hampster wheel sucks, I lost years of sleep and lots of money, but you gotta find what suits your risk tolerance and patience levels, it's a great journey! Excellent video Lisa! I like your categories of EA traders. Personally, I'm in the portfolio and system categories right now. But I need to learn how to code because I was a manual trader before and know how to read charts. I used to pay freelancers to develop bots in MQL5 and MQL4, but the entries were not always the same as I would have traded manually. So it's important to learn how to code too if you have a good manual system and want to automate it. Another developer wouldn't necessarily understand the system the way the manual trader does.

yea, it can get expensive as you want to make tweaks to your system. Learning to code is pretty useful

Very interesting and helpful view, i would say most aspiring traders need to understand -when you are starting your trading journey it is always better to start with manual, especially if you don't know anything -you can't understand what the EA is saying without first understand what the market is saying -once you have become proficient in the charts and have years of experience you can then develop your EA based on the strategy you use. Don't be in a hurry to make money from the market, as being a trader is a life long job

You can adjust the lot size multiplier in the settings

Making your own expert advisor is the best way. You have purchased a lot of EA's so you understand their strategy. You take what you like and what you don't like and combine them into 1 EA or multiple EA's and you are set. When you depend on publicly available EA's the system in the long run won't work as the market starts catching up to the strategy.

I’m now manually trading too. I have found EA’s either risk far too much for such a small profit. They are bloody terrible. I’ve wasted $1000’s of dollars on them. Do not buy them. Learn to manual trade.

Please share links to accounts that are trading EA Studio created EAs. My evaluation of that product is that it's selling hopes and dreams, but I would love to be proven wrong.
