I’ve always had stupid dreams, and for some reason, whenever one of these new over the top dreams pop up in my head, they don’t feel stupid. They absolutely sound sane and reasonable. Like why shouldn’t I publish a novel, or why shouldn’t I sell everything and move to Berlin, or you know becoming a youtuber, how hard can it be. As it turns out: very very hard. Not realistic at all. Anyway i have been thinking about this a lot lately because david and i are thinking of departing on yet another absolutely stupid dream of ours and now we’re wondering if it will be worth it, all the work, all the headaches, all the steep learning curves? So of course, just like whenever we’re debating whether to do something or not, we want your input.
I talk about:
- creating goals
- pursue unrealistic dreams
- why you should chase your dreams
- don’t be afraid of failure
- paris fashion week
- scriptwriting
- working with your partner
- setting realistic goals

I am.pretty sure i have said it before, i am an actress, and form my experience i recomand to follow the passion but with tactics. I strongly support david in this new path and it would help a lot to take some screenwritting courses. To learn the basics. After that...things will fall into place. Also there is nothing to lose. Hope i will se a movie one day with Mustard on it. Your name...not the condiment:))))

You go girl! (And boy;) Here’s my silly dream: I work as a paramedic, and the uniform clothes are particularly bad for us women in the job. There made for male Bodies, don’t look great and are sometimes uncomfortable. I sew clothes for many many years now, and have a small business running next to my main job, so I wondered - can I make a good looking, good functioning uniform for the female paramedics, and get it manufactured for companies to use?

I love this for you, Jenny!! I am a theater actor. I started after turning forty, having wanted to act my whole life, and I have had such amazing experiences in theatre for the last dozen years. My most recent credit was playing Lady MacBeth. I have been wanting to write playscripts for years, as well. I have written a few short one acts, but I dream of writing full length plays I can produce myself, with a fantastic role tailor made for me. I have been putting this off, but I feel so inspired by you making all of your dreams come true. I will make a pact with you to start writing today!! xx

I worked for years with an actor who created her own production company writing, producing and acting in her own historical dramas. She created a number of one woman traveling shows that she sold to univiersities, museums, clubs, etc. I worked as her stage manager and assistant. She traveled all over the world and we presented in major museums and even the Harvard Clubs in Boston and New York. It iwas quite a lot of work. She was also the PR person, marketing manager and set up and strike was a bit of work even with just basic lighting and props. How I miss the late Robin Lane and what adventures we had.

I was previously a dance fitness studio owner which I sold, then coffee truck owner - also sold, currently have a successful Etsy shop and just started going back to school to become a general contractor to remodel homes (I’ve already flipped a home with no schooling). But I always felt so much shame for my crazy dreams and cockiness. I just believe in my abilities and now am looking for what will fulfill me most in life. Thank you for sharing this video! I’m only 20 so this advice can be taken with a grain of salt, but people who have gone around nursing homes asking the elderly what regrets they had came up with these answers as some of the most common answers from the elderly; Wished they pursued their dreams regardless of what others thought or their own fears. Wish they were less harsh on themselves. I think screen writing is amazing! ❤

I don't have such a tendency, my dreams are not that unrealistic, I guess I don't have a particularly ambitious nature. Some things that I wanted did require effort to achieve though and I'm proud of where I am right now. My next dream is to buy my own house with a garden where I can grow vegetables and keep chickens. Definitely not a crazy dream, kinda lame lol, but it's a big goal for me and I want to get there before I'm 35 to challenge myself 😊

My life has been very rocky and complicated but at 48 I still have some dreams even though I don't see how I could make them come true. I'd love to move to Japan, but not to Tokyo; my dream is the Japanese countryside. If English was my native language my chances of getting working visa would be much higher but since I'm not an Anglophone and my academic degree is useless in Japan I don't think I will ever be able to move there permanently. English speakers usually start as teachers in language schools even though many of them eventually change jobs. A few people in their 50s who moved to Japan encouraged me to be brave and just go for it, but they usually forgot to add details such as that they came to Japan with their spouses who had contracts with Japanese companies. It's clearly unrealistic for me to even consider the move, but I can't seem to get over it. I'll be moving abroad next year anyway as I desperately need to start my life from scratch somewhere else. I've been thinking of England or Japan. England is where I left my heart 8 years ago and I can't forgive myself for ever going back to Poland, so in my dreams I'm torn between England and Japan. I might be nearing 50 but I can assure you, hope dies last.

Also a film buff here I've been reading scripts and analysing films for a while now (5 years ?) and I've realized that its a medium that takes a lot of "time" to become great at sure you can write a crappy script and may still be able to sell it but thats beginners luck and it will run out sooner or later. But if you learn to write great scripts I've read so often that it'll get picked up and will be made into a film regardless of the obstacles that you may encounter along the way. To write a great script you have to know the form and once you know the form you need to know what to prepare to begin planning your script and to actually write it well with realistic dialogue and good flow I guess you'll have to keep on writing to see if you've got that zest. Apart from the general form of three acts there're more settle components that make up a good story that keep the rhythm consistent like a good music there's a rhythm in story telling too ! and for those details I haven't seen it anywhere explained you'll just have to keep on reading good scripts and watching good films to learn to incorporate those finer details. And last but not least just be aware that it could take "years" and you may not reach the destination. Thats been my experience thus far. Good luck!

It is good that you have these ideas and goals. I would love to be a decluttering consultant and maybe even one day an interior decorator/designer (possibly). I am a certified life coach in carbon footprint reduction but that scares people off for some reason (since people don't understand what it means). Since I've been a minimalist nearly 18 years and I love helping people declutter, I am starting at this part of the dream. I'm in research mode right now and planning to make the business in time. I had my own photography business for a while but there are loads of other photographers who started businesses afterwards (including one of my cousins who is really very good at it) that I am glad it is just my hobby now.

I'd love to see you write scripts! I definitely recommend reading a bunch of them, there are many that are available online, and some even as books (I think Fleabag is a great example), also interviews with screenwriters are a great step and a few masterclasses on it. Besides that I think you've already got all the talent, it's just a matter of directing it towards that. My wild dream would be to write novels, but maybe also swim with orcas?

I find this so inspiring. I think something I struggle with is that I’ve never had that specific *thing* like I see so many others have. My mom is a teacher, my dad is an engineer, my sister is a scientist. Of course they have hobbies but they always kind of knew what they wanted to pursue. I feel so all over the place and feel pulled in too many directions. I think what’s helping me is realizing I can do it all, just not all at the same time. I can focus on one career or dream or whatever for a season of my life, whether that’s months or years, and then move on. AND I can simply enjoy casual hobbies too, not everything needs to be monetized. I don’t need to be a professional dancer anymore, I can just take a class once in a while, perform even less often, and that’s okay. I don’t need to dedicate my life to being a yoga instructor, but I do enjoy practicing it and am certified if I ever want to go back to it. I’m going back to uni now at 27 because I want to!!

In my opinion, your new venture sounds completely realistic. I’d say go for it! I’ve been working on two ideas for novels… but I keep coming back to one of the ideas, and my intuition is telling me that it should be written as a screenplay… I know nothing about writing a screenplay but I trust my intuition. I’ve been back to university three times in my life, each time in a different field, so if I can do that, I can certainly learn to write a screenplay! We are all glued to our screens these days, so there’s a huge need for screenplays. Trust your intuition, and you will succeed… NOT a crazy idea at all!

Thank you for this video! I definitely needed an injection of cockiness to get back to writing my screenplay. I've been working in the Canadian film industry for about 7 years now. Directing is the goal, and screenwriting is a path I'm taking to it. I've been trying to get out of my own way for a while now, and I appreciate your wild dreams and your accomplishments! It helps me continue to dream and persevere. Write your screenplay! You already have all the tools your need: strong work ethic, inspiration, an understanding of the trials and tribulations of the creative process, and a unique perspective on life. My advice is to not overthink it! Like Jenny said, follow your inner child to create and the rest will come. The hardest part for me would be to sell the thing or working other creatives to make the film itself. Pushing your script and making compromises to have it actually get made. However, I'm sure with the network you already have, you'll get your film made with minimal sweat on your brows. Félicitations and please keep us updated on your journey :)

If it's David's dream to be a screenwriter and the dream is persistent I don't see why he shouldn't start making research and slowly (but surely) move in that direction. Of course it will take time and he may be rejected many a time, but if he doesn't try he will never know. It's not the type of career that requires moving to the other side of the world or a ridiculous amount of money. It's all about lots of research, lots of practice and making the right contacts. He doesn't lose anything if he tries.

I love crazy, big, audacious dreams! :) Mine is writing a novel too :) Definitely going to check out Milanote, thanks for the recommendation!

My crazy dream is to be a successful KZfaqr (like you) and to be able to support myself, my husband and my stepdaughter. I always day dream of owning a cute little forever home that I will decorate like a farmhouse and keep chickens in the back of 💖 I am painfully shy and I am absolutely terrified but deep down I do believe it's possible.

My stupid dream is that I truly belive I can become a doctor now (starting at 25y and already graduated in journalism). I’m going after that now 😅 but part of me still thinks I’m crazy for dropping everything else and pursuing a new dream

There's almost nothing I dislike more than "know your place" people. Eww. Do what speaks to you. The idea that you're born exactly where you're supposed to end up is the silly thing!
