Hugh Laurie didn’t just go to Cambridge, he rowed for them in the boat race. In addition to being an actor, producer and author, he’s also a polyglot, musician of several instruments and an avid collector and rider of motorbikes for a hobby. He’s also a dad and husband of over 33 years.

I've always been a fan of Hugh Laurie, but my respect for him just skyrocketed after this. Why didn't they ask Evans was the first Dame Christie novel I read as well and it kicked off a serious hunt for her novels and their adaptations. The central plot was truly brilliant and the main character Frankie was one of the reasons the book in itself was so delightful and memorable beyond the whodunit element. It is so heartwarming to see a fellow admirer of the book and its writer - and to find that the fellow admirer is none other than Hugh Laurie.

Marvellous, though it's Dame Agatha (first name, not surname). The same with Sir, Price, Princess, Queen, or King... 😁 Confusingly, it's different for Dukes, Duchesses, and Prime Ministers: eg _Meghan, Duchess of Sussex;_ not 'Duchess Meghan'. _The Duke of Cambridge,_ or _William, Duke of Cambridge;_ not 'Duke William' - though he _is_ Prince William! _Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister,_ not 'Prime Minister Sunak'. Confused? You will be...😂

Stephen, if Evie hasn’t seen Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry in the old Jeeves series, look it up. I’d read the Wodehouse books years ago, but had never seen the series. Anyone who hasn’t seen it should treat themselves. I found them on KZfaq. A perfect antidote to the craziness we now live in. Also, Hugh Laurie’s blues special filmed in New Orleans, with jazz/blues legends is highly recommended. Laurie is so multi-faceted and talented.

It's comforting to listen to, and fun to write! I'll get around to it, gotta devote myself to ASL for now. I presume you've seen Hinterland? "Inveigled" is a word that British people know at birth. In America, only college graduates (Cum Laude) have ever heard of it.

For a man who's exposed to several different cultures like me, English language is the best for the future. As a writer i chose English language to write, because i am so much in love with the vast literature it has provided to the world and i love English language for some other political, emotional, sentimental reasons as well. If a writer says he, she hates English language, it means he is not staying true to his, her craft. Since I love the language and it's literature it's easy for me to learn and practice it.

@@RudolphCookie your biggest mistake is assuming you know other people's thought process. Sometimes actors want to reach a wider audience or get that big fat check for 5 minutes of screen time. Not to mention that even guilty pleasure shows often have some bigger names for smaller parts, like Anthony Stewart Head.

Well I watched it on Britbox (even though I live in England) and there wasn't an advert in all 3 episodes. I don't know if Britbox is different in the States but it is still a subscription, right? So I don't think you will have to suffer adverts either. Highly recommend this drama, I'm a bit of a Agatha Christie fan and I had seen a very different version of the same story but this version is really good, much more of a sense of present danger throughout.
