this ship has too many gimmicks i hate how old ships keep being powercrept or made obsolete otherwise and the worst is how these ships are locked behind steel/rb/dubs

I don't think this ship is a HE spammer. I think it's simply power creep by all the overmatching BB. Now when a BB doesn't overmatch left and right, it's classified as mediocre BB. And yes you got good results while HE spamming, congratulation, you just discovered that spamming HE passively is the most easy way to farm damage in this game. I think this ship tells more about the game balance than any other ship.

This ship looks to me more like an Alaska on a BB hull than a Florida with improved pen angles. The guns, survivability and consumables are all Alaska-like. Looking at shell velocity, I'm not sure if RI even has super heavy AP shells (you know, "American Piercing") - which would suggest penetration similar to Alaska/Puerto rico. And by looking at is as an oversized Alaska - I'm not surprised it's HE focused, but with decent AP.

It was literally the first bundle for me, Im going to be trying it out and playing it. Newer player so we will see how it goes. EDIT: Racked up about 30 games in it so far, fun and engaging ship with good guns and a comfy play style. Just don't try to brawl other BBs, you'll explode. It's main comfy style I found was being a cruiser with big guns and kiting since it's gun angles are good, you obliterate DDs with HE and delete cruisers broadside with AP ~20-30k AP citadels and side pens, (Can do about 9k HE damage frontally and about 2k after soak, AP is almost worthless frontally unless you overmatch.) Mix all the above with a 20 second reload and it's a monster. Just has the armor of a wet paper bag. It's only worth the dubs if it's like the first or second bundle or at the latest like the tenth. It's very fun and enjoyable but because the lootbox delivery it's dogshit to get and unworth it.

Tonight I faced numerous Rhode Island's and Essex's tonight. Rhode Island AP at range was chunking me through upper belt, and their dam HE was setting a fire every salvo.

You could theoretically use her in ranked to rush the cap, kill the dd and zip away. If you were in a div with dd, you could just take the cap.

Just checked in the client. Grabbing all the loot boxes at once costs 78200 dubs. That would get you the Rhode Island and enough tokens to get the Essex, both perma-camos, and a couple WoF boxes... in the event that you're both interested in all that AND willing to spend a hair over $300.

Imagine all the people that'll pay $350 for not only a digital item, but this 😂

Florida AP turns out to be more usable than I expected, but you are not facing as many over-armored bricks as found at the top tiers.

I am loving this ship. My exp with the AP has been the opposite. I'm only about 15 games in so far but I have used AP predominantly and have been amazed at how much it slaps. I actually find my AP games exceeding my HE game damage. Lol

I will continue to support PQ with views and like on his content. I truly did enjoy WoWs for many hours, but I found myself falling into that monetization trap that weegee, and many other russian devs, seem to prioritize in their games. I had to quit WoWs due to the amount of BS from subs, carriers, steam-roll match maker, and of course the ridiculous monetization of this game. There are other free to play games out that that monetize themselves fairly and not in such a predatory way. Gambling should not exist in video games.

EU just got the patch, first bundle Rhode Island. For 2k doubloons it is a no-brainer for me.

Fun fact: you can hold left click and it fires all your guns.

So it's just like a Burger, got it. Sit in back, spam HE until an opportunity presents itself. This ship has radar and Burger has reload booster (but worse dispersion). Whatever, seems meh.

Bourgone is not only a better ship, its also free.

From what I see...if you can play Bourg and Hindy, this might be a super powerful ship for you.

Lootboxes are killing my love for the game. I don't mind buying ships straight up sometimes. But bundles and lootboxes are frustrating. I was looking forward to Jupiter '42, but not only is it in lootboxes, there's also a whole bunch of other things I do not want in them.

Yoshino has 5600 HE alpha(as compared to 5000 of this ship) with Heavy HE commander skill and better reload......so just play yoshino if anyone wants to HE spam instead of breaking their wallets on Rhodes Islands

This is exactly like your Bungo video where you kept getting 20k AP volleys and saying the ship was “whatever” and disappointing. You don’t seem to be able to understand damage vs reload time. Getting 15-20k ap volleys with battle cruiser dispersion regardless of citadels on a 20 second reload is ridiculously good. It also has fast shells, the one huge downside American ships have. You really need to go back and play some old BBs, with their dogshit dispersion, turret traverse and 30 second reload time and realize how powercrept they have become and how good new BBs are.

I think if they buffed the accuracy instead of the HE it would've made a really good AP-focused American Bourgogne, but because of the way the game is it will never happen.

The AP is weaker than most other ships at the tier because most other ships now have 457mm guns. Makes sense to me.

Well done WG. it costs 78.2k doubloons with discount to get Rhode 100% guaranteed. Where i live this costs 55.2% of a minimum wage (or 2 to 4 AAA games for comparison) it's just a pretty bad gamble with no ROI. and i'm 100% sure Sicillia and some other ships will be on something Similar

I'm just not going to pay good money for this or any ship. The game was really good when they were just regular ships. When they started adding all of these super ships with their special gimmicks, the writing was on the wall. They act more like world of tanks with each passing day. That being said, I still play ships but I manage my expectations of success. I know I'm not going to be able to necessarily stand up to one of those super boats when I'm in a regular historical tech tree ship but at least I'll feel like I'm playing fair.
