I recall you discussing dismantling the transmission to pinpoint the issue around six months back or thereabouts... It's great to see you follow through on your promise. Although it took some time, you finally got it done. Congratulations!

The gears and shafts can be used for welding art or make specialized tools. Id keep all the bolts and fastners and the solenoids.

Clutch pack on rear is for overdrive i believe. Reverse is accomplished by holding certain bands and certain servos in which makes planetary gears rotate in reverse. There is a great video on how automatic transmissions work on youtube

It was the shift selector rod holding it in, u aligned the pin but it binds up when you try to pull it apart, had to learn the hard way myself, also learned the 12pt nuts were reverse thread.

I would absolutely change the trans oil on any tranmission you buy. Same with engines.

That transmission I'm sure was not all your wife's fault. You did buy it used. Someone else did most of the damage I'm sure. Never blame your wife is at fault here

Yeah well when I rode along with my wife I realized she was pedal to the metal after every stop light, she also doesn't brake at speed bumps. He's only joking though, he's not blaming her

You may as well have rebuilt the transmission so it's like new again if you were going to pull it apart. I am sure that you could obtain a digital Manual in PDF form of the Honest service manual online or maybe the All data website could give you some information if you're subscribed to it !

Some are curious as to what failed... Some Honda transmissions are weaker than others, without maintenance of course (drain/fill not flushing) Plus, it's a learning experience for Ernest.. he stated he never cracked open a Honda transmission before 👍

Hmm, good use for an unused weather tech or similar brand floor mat... Like a shallow drain pan. I'll use something similar under a standard drain pan to catch any oops spills outside of the drain & can slide out the whole mat when done doing an oil change 👍
