Wife and 2 kids will certainly slow those things down! I agree that's it's certainly enjoyable to see and sure, it would be cool to see it more, however to me it's just as cool to see as him sharing everything else that he does with us...... It's the passion and the person! That's the reason I have watched every video for years, and yes before the Supra! Change happens! It's inevitable..... If you haven't, peep the vids on his other channel (his name)... To be clear, I'm just a fan, not trying to spam or some 💩 😂

It's doesn't need more power, it needs more usable powerband! The trans is geared for the street, 5th and 6th are useless, the spread ratio between the other gears is too wide, 1st and 2nd is fine, 2nd and 3rd need to be halved and 4th needs to be closer to what 3rd is! Quick change would be most beneficial, different sized turbo then trans! More power only creates more problems, more power is for lesser skilled drivers, that's one thing Trevor isn't lacking. That said, I agree on the lack of aggression, HOWEVER he has certainly proved he can get down with the best of them! It's bittersweet because he can do it under pressure, but he doesn't do it unless he's under pressure! Reminds me a lot of Taylor Ray, calm, smooth and full of skill!

@@commonsenseisdeadin2024 Oh I've said in the past that power has never been his issue. But when doing a full rebuild there's nothing wrong with pulling more from the motor. I'm not saying he needs 800hp or 1,000hp like some might say. But pulling another 200hp or so of usuable hp isn't a bad thing. And I don't think his power band is terrible... but the way he drives it. Trevor has always had a issue of driving his JZ like a V8. He's smooth but he relies a bit to much on the torque and letting the motor do the work. Even watching him drive it feels like he floats the car through the zones and only gives enough throttle to keep it at angle and smooth. And only really stands on it hard in like the final zones or right at transitions to rotate the car. Unlike others who really stand on it and drive super hard. As I said he lacks the aggression needed in some situations leading and chasing. Not to mention his nasty habit he grew with the vet of leaving his hand on the shifter/hand brake and only steering with one hand. 😅Adam has told him about that before I think but old habits die hard. The issue he had in the past has always been suspension setup, transmission and Diff limitations. And more importantly... Good tires. His tires were always a lesser performance/grip compared to those he use to be against. Now if he's on the same tires as everyone that levels the playing field. But then comes the issue of dialing in more grip to be more competitive with faster cars. More grip means you'd need more power to overcome that grip. And then it becomes the game of chasing/balancing power vs grip. I think his main focus should be on Trans (Rather sequential or dogbox), Quick change diff, axles as the main starting points. After that FRESH suspension setup is DEFINITELY Needed, and new solid Angle kit. Power is the last thing on the list that should be messed with.

Short wheel base, hard to control

As he says, it's already a 350Z diff which is an R200. Should be fine, but the axles can def be upgraded.

The issue is gearing, the CD009 is geared for the street, 5th and 6th are pointless, the ratio from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th are too wide, the diff/final drive gear is limited and not easy to swap different gears into, would be better swapping the entire diff with complete units obviously with different gear ratios but even then still limited, it's expensive and not ideal. The reason the axle snapped is the shock of having to clutch kick, he needed to clutch kick because the gears were all wrong! It's really not because of "weak axles" or "weak diff", that is straight up torture for even the "strongest" of parts! Your worst enemies in life are heat and being blindsided!

@@commonsenseisdeadin2024 100% agree the trans is a limiting factor but having lots of different diff gears you can get around that. His car is more of a grass roots car. and putting a diff in will help that car. i feel like if he puts a 10K trans in it he might as well build a Pro Am car lol

@@alleybuilds5370 the good things is, he knows some people who knows some people and I guarantee he will be able to pick up a used dog box and a quick change for a smoking good deal! Know who doesn't want used gear boxes and diffs.... Pro Am teams 😂 Grass roots is fine and all... Except when you find yourself at events with Pro Am cars! 😂
