It's a really fun film to rewatch, as you notice more and more details. With "modern" Hollywood writing, they'd just rub all the details on your face all the time, and it would only have half of them. Right away, we hear the news about the plutonium on the TV, explaining where it came from. Einstein's food bowl is full, suggesting Doc was out of town ("working" with the Libyans to make them a fake bomb) for a good while. Marty's antics with the skateboard, just to get to school, justifying why he's so good at doing tricks around cards later to escape Biff. Marty's mom being so opposed to outgoing girls precisely because she was like that, and regrets it. Nearly every line and scene is there to set up or pay off something. So rewatching it is like solving a puzzle.

This is easily my favorite trilogy, and most critics and movie historians consider it the most perfect series of movies ever made, especially with the attention to detail. Please please please watch all of them.

This is maybe the most well constructed film of all time. Every scene, darn near every frame, is efficiently used to tell crucial details. Everything you see in earlier in the film pays off specifically later in the film. It's almost hard to believe they planned it all.

The "you're just too loud" guy is Huey Lewis. An 80s rock band star whose song was the theme of the movie. "Power of Love".

If you think about it...Marty traveled to an alternate 85 timeline at the end, where he replaced the Marty of this alternate 85...all because his father got confrontational with Biff. His original 85 timeline where he's from, he's still missing and Doc is still laying on the ground.

The pictures on the mantelpiece in Doc's living room are scientists/inventors, the picture Doc puts back is Thomas "Tom" Edison (who was really more of a businessman) who worked on improving the light bulb, phonograph etc.. Others are Benjamin Franklin (left of Edison) who invented a few things including the lightning rod to protect structures and Albert Einstein (right). The first portrait on the left is Isaac Newton's (mathematician/physicist).

This is a perfect trilogy, and no one ever need reboot it. It's simply perfect. Enjoy!

The car "didn't come from this damn movie". The DeLorean was a real car and was around before the movie was made, and was chosen by the movie production team as an 'iconic' car and used in all three 'Back to the Future' movies.

the whole trilogy is amazing...some people dont like the 3rd one but its a great ending to the series and every little thing connects all the changes in the past and the future are consistent even the small details

So many subtle nods and other details: ~ The judge at the band audition was Huey Lewis, who wrote and performed The Power of Love - both the title track for the movie and the song Marty's band performed for their audition. ~ Old Man Peabody and his son Sherman were a nod to the old Peabody and Sherman cartoons where they traveled through time to teach Sherman about history. ~ When Marty first gets to the mall in 1985, the sign says "Twin Pines Mall". In 1955, he runs over and kills one of Peabody's pine trees. When Marty goes back to the mall in 1985, the sign says "Lone Pine Mall". ~ Throughout the movie, the ledge on the clock tower is intact - until Doc breaks it in 1955. When Marty returns to 1985, the ledge is now damaged. (In Back to the Future II, when they go to 2015, that damaged ledge is still there.) ~ George and Lorraine bought the model home for Lyon Estates. When Marty hides the DeLorean behind the billboard, you can clearly see that's his house in the advertisement. ~ In case you missed it, Marty performed "Johnny B Goode" at the 1955 dance, which was actually released by Chuck Berry in 1956. (Also, Marty's performance segued through several [in]famous guitar solos from the 1960s through early 1980s which were indeed loved by GenXers.)

One of the great trilogies of all time and it still feel special because it's the one franchise from the 80s that hasn't been ruined by woke modern day bullsh@t.

IMO, this is a perfect movie. Great plot, use of science fiction, comedy and emotion. Marty saying "I hope so" about seeing Doc in 30 years and the reveal that Doc taped the letter back together always gets me.

Something no one seems to comment about is, the easiest time to get plutonium was, in fact, the 1950's. They did not understand how dangerous it was. There were even kids toys and chemistry sets with radioactive chemicals in them. The 1980's would have been a lot more difficult.

This was so much fun! Every time I see this movie, I feel 16 again 🙌

The principal was just handing out some tough love for Marty, because he hoped it would help him avoid the mistakes and weaknesses of his father, who was a push-over and slacker. It might not have been the best strategy, but he meant well. He was old school and thought that kids need some discipline to grow up into respectable citizens.

If you look closely at the driver of the blue truck that Marty grabs onto as he leaves Doc's, it is Steven Spielberg driving. The Jeep that Marty grabs onto in Hill Valley is not Spielberg, as some think, it's stunt coordinator Walter Scott.

The Libyans were not pleased being named as the terrorists in this movie. The movie was rejected by every studio, sometimes more than once. What's really wild is to be cruising down the interstate and seeing an extremely well made replica coming from the opposite direction. For just a second, you get that little tickle in the brain as you try to deal with it. Crazy.

You got it right on the car. The DeLorean (the DMC badge on the grille stands for DeLorean Motor Company) DMC-12, as it was called, was originally introduced in 1981, and in two years the car actually failed. Despite the stainless steel construction and all, it was actually slow and heavy, severely underpowered (it had 130 hp stock 🤦), and the rear-mounted V6 engine was a sketchy, unreliable turd. Plus, it was $27k brand new in those days! That said, in response to this movie, and its sequels, making the DeLorean become well-noted in pop culture, auto engineer John DeLorean, the man behind the DeLorean, thanked director Robert Zemeckis and the executive producers for making his creation famous. 😆😆😆

Doc is also in that tv show called Taxi.

Yes, keep going through the trilogy. Actually the first is my favorite then the 3rd, but a lot of people like the 2nd Back To The Future the most.

A sequel was not intended, but the movie was such a hit it became necessary. The sequel was so long they decided to split it so it became part 2 and 3.

When the DeLorean time-machine-car is first revealed, with this dramatic entrance, the ramp opening, steam billowing, the car slowly backing up the ramp... if you consider the layout of car and van, there is no way that Doc could have gotten into the car from _inside_ of the van. So Doc would have to have entered the car... driven it up the ramp into the van... closed the ramp... waited for Marty to appear... and then make his grand entrance. I don't know if that counts as a blooper, a plot hole or just some cute little in-story detail... but once you have noticed it, you just can't unsee it.

People argue that Lorraine and George dont recognize Marty when he goes back to the present but they obviously do. George remembers the advice Marty gave and hands the book directly to him as he does it. They also buy him a truck and the other two kids have to share the family car.

Part 2 and 3 are great as well
