I flew 5,600 miles for a long lost friend - so I went to Kyoto, Japan, to visit my friend Rika who I havent seen in 4 years. I wish I could have done one of those, surprising my best friend after many years, or i flew to japan to surprise my best friend, but Japan is too far away and I wasn't taking any chances with her busy schedule LOL.

@CynicalDuchess I have a few folks who would absolutely adore your channel so I'm going to share on my socials! No worries, they're good, kind (and very funny) humans lol. I'm so happy YT suggested you to me. I've always had an interest in fashion but never had the you know what to just do my thing. I've been learning from you and the people that you interview to just relax, wear whatever speaks to you and to just have fun with it. I'm not an Orthodox Jewish gal (not even Jewish lol) but I've always been pretty modest with the way I dress so I can def relate there so I super love seeing fun, modest ways to let my clothes have some fun. I respect how you incorporate your beliefs into your life while always respecting how others live, dress, etc. I'm from Pittsburgh and live fairly close to the synagogue where 11 innocent people lost their lives and when I tell you the way the entire community came together to support and love one another, it was absolutely mind-blowing to see. It still is. I, along with a few friends, went over there for a vigil and the amount of love and strength that was in the air brought me to tears. I will never forget how that felt, even as a non Jewish person. If you are ever in the Pittsburgh area, I'd definitely meet up for a coffee or meal! Squirrel Hill has a lot of really great restaurants that are kosher that I think you'd have a lot of fun trying! They're extremely popular - even with us non Jews lol. Just great food run by some amazing people. Anyhoo, going to continue my binge-watching but yep, really looking forward to what you have coming up! Thanks again for shining your light and kindness! The world needs more people like you ❤️

Glad to catch this video, Miss Algorithm didn't bring it to my attention. You're always so hard on yourself but your videos are put together very professionally. I love the visual style and the narrative style. The videos are both entertaining and welcoming, they draw you in. I'm happy for you that you've got a job that pays the bills. Hopefully it will still leave you time to continue making videos because you have a gift and it would be a shame if you stopped.

You should know that bamboo is a vicious vicious plant and destroys foundations of homes . I had a bamboo forest next to my house and we were forced to uproot it (it was insanely expensive) due to the neighbors worry that the roots would smash through their pipes and foundation

Hi Batsheva! Question from a roman catholic: What is kosher nori? Isn‘t nori just salted roasted seaweed - no milk/meat/seafood in the ingredients. Or is it the fact that the nori in Japan might be produced in a factory which also processes meat/milk/seafood? Love your videos!

I'm not sure about Kyoto, but in Tokyo there's a Chabad (or 2?) and they have Kosher food, plus someee restaurants mostly around Tokyo. doubt it's exactly authentic Japanese cuisine though 😅 also, nice video!

yup! they have 2 chabads in tokyo and one in kyoto. I went to 2/3. no lol definitely not authentic Japanese. I wish it was. honestly, one of my ultimate biggest petmpeeves about life is having to visit another country and only eat falafel. makes me go insane. and hate falafel. its unfair honestly lol. Japanese food could be made kosher instantly.
