Agreed. It’s also why I love the Fitzcarraldo Editions. The covers look so elegant and allows the text to speak for itself.

Those books made of paper of good quality, and Gallimard is just the most prestigious publisher In France, They also have a collectors' version of selected authors called Pléiade, authors both French and foreign, such as Camus, Mondiano, Hemingway, all with old school binding and their signature font. Or, the Soleil edition, cloth cover and "reliure'" binding, but they're kinda hard to find right now.

Hey buddy! Great excursion. Just wanted to say that I hope you're safe out there as Paris is in a bit of an upheaval at the moment. I suggest for your next travels abroad to two places in Wales, England - Hay on Wye in Wales, and Gladstone Library in Hawarden, North Wales. They are both a literary paradise.

The media make it seem so much worse than it truly is For random people like you and I, riots just mean you wake up and like 3 downtown stores have a broken glass window, it's not stopping us from living our normal life. The really shocking thing is knowing that the police killed a 17 year old kid.

Hey Robin! I love your videos and I'd just like to share that I too am on a vacation to France, and came across a bookshop ran by an ex professor in Philosophy (David Aiken) and bought some books, Camus, Kierkegaard and one about the Presocratics, ''as a gift'' he said, because I'll study philosophy next year. Just a funny little thing, I thought. Oh yeah, my name is Vic as well, like your crew member at 1:50 :) Kind regards !👋

Hi Anthony! I’m currently completing my honours year in Literature before a PhD. My schedule’s a bit crammed at the moment but new videos are on their way in video essay forms (they’re longer and more thoroughly researched so that’s why I haven’t been posting consistently). And yes I’ve been an Australian ever since I moved to Melbourne when I was 12. :)
