What did you actually studied at university?

You are right on. Recently my anxiety has been elevated due to school of course but also because I’ve been spending more time on my phone to cope with that anxiety which in turn makes it worse. I’ve been doing my regular hobbies like reading and watching movies, but like you said, it feels forgettable at times and I think the point of a lack of ritualism is very accurate. We as humans enjoy having rituals even from a toddler age. I’m going to try to be more mindful of this and see if it can slow down time and ease my anxiety from the fast pace that seems to cause my stress.

So your saying that I have to pretend that the author is talking to me depending on the story then summarize what I’ve read?

Do you still use Notion for archiving your notes from books? For this purpose, do you also recommend other methods of storing these types of notes?

Thank you for your amazing video! I was one of the students in this system, i earned straight As and ended up only feeling depressed, anxious and have a really low self esteem. Because theres this mismatch - yea i got straight As so what? I dont know shit. And im missing out a huge part of my life in order to maintain this “straight As” image. Been diagnosed with anxiety disorder for 3 years and i just wish i could learn for the sake of learning again. Then i tried to not care about grades. And i wish I could one day, become truly curious about the world again.

Because everything is moving so fast, we losing the experience of it all. Its like you're in a car going at 100 m/p/h and seeing all this stuff but when you want to recall it it's like a blur , nothing sticks with you.

When I go to a bookstore I always know exactly which book(s) I mean to purchase. Whenever I am drawn to a book I add it to my TBR, actually buying it at the bookstore never crossed my mind.

Probably best video I have ever watched. Everyone knows these, but nothing is made to change. "Studying", as we are talking here, is stressfull, learning, on the other hand, is mesmerizing. Thanks for this. 🙏 (I realized this mentality has got in my way for a long time, cause of circumstances and pressure, but I really resonate with what you said. We shouldn't be defined by these stupid little addictive grades...)

This is exactly what happened with me and the novel Babel. I watched and read so many reviews on KZfaq and Goodreads, and I formed the expectation that it would be some type of book that really fit my preferences. But, I became disappointed halfway because non of those expectations were met. And now I'm in a reading slump. Maybe ought to have just stayed away from researching the book. Maybe someday, I'll go back to it and find it awesome. But right now, we're not on good terms. Thanks for the video, I really learned something today. I subscribed because of the insights

Every time I have to write an essay I come back to this video. You remind me what my goal actually is. It's not just to meet some quota of words, but rather truly learn and develop my own thoughts and then share them in a simple way. Very thankful that I clicked on this video over all the other "Essay Hack" recommendations.

I'm in the demolish your book camp too. Especially if you are reading a dense book. In fact take notes, experiment, ruminate based on past experience and summarize and ask question using AI. I personally use Google's notebooklm and chatgpt for this. Amazing for comprehension... Terrible for speed 😂😂😂

In my understanding there's an agenda against humanity deliberately producing this kind of technology so that we'll become dumber and dumber and easier to enslave, making us more willing to accept any false narrative, spoon feeding us lies and false information.

Youre describing thermodynamics, there is always a period of classicism and romanticism going on. The victorians were trying to find a medieval feeling in art again. Neo gothic architecture after the classicism, the 2020 come back of retro medias, now this research on XXe feelings, the nowaday throw back on psx and low poly graphism in independent video game makers. It will always be a constant loop of order and chaos, and or both at once. And I find is so fascinating, and I will number 1 critic and hater of Dark Academia, I can't stand classicism a single bit lmao

I am from Africa / Ghana. I met a guy on the street who was selling the remarkable 2 with a pen cheaply. Dear God, I am glad this thing found me. Just almost into it. Ive seen a significant impact on on on on on my life a lot. Most of my procrastination is eliminated. My KZfaq gaming channel is now active thanks to the remarkable 2!! I used the keyboard to type green light authored by Matthew McConaughey. It wasn’t bad. Just Note yourself!!

I think Ulysses describes life in general. It brings up a new perspective to me: How funny, childish, stupid it seems from the outside and how serious it gets when you are stuck in your own thoughts. For example Hades. From the outside the dialogue of all these strange characters is quite comical. But the depth of life is provided by the breathtaking stream of consciousness of Leopold Bloom. Great video! Informal and differentiated arguments, enjoyed watching.

I was very similar to you when I was 17 and found myself pulled in many interesting directions! One advantage I would say I wasn’t expecting is how applicable other skills or interests are in my now day to day job lecturing. My interest in video production helps us film and edit good tapes for the students to watch. My interest in comedy allows my lectures to not take themselves too seriously. My various IT skills that I’ve picked up over different projects are endlessly useful. I agree that ultimately learning should be fun though - I may have all these useful skills but I didn’t beat myself up to learn them, they just came naturally as I curiously explored my interests

Being offline is less of a problem if you have an MP3 player or a decent radio station in the area 😊😊😊 if not then Winamp enter URL or equivalent and a public library connection is definitely your friend. Also if you wind up scratching one of your old time radio CDs then the public library connection comes in very handy for a redownload if it's still available also there's this other website called FM radio stream that raised my screen time considerably. Also you definitely had an internet connection if you could use Spotify there's a big difference between no Wi-Fi and no internet. In my summer home we have no Wi-Fi and I'm not on a phone plan we do have their and MP3 CD Boombox though so I brought my Hundred holder and wound up accidentally staying up till 3:00 a.m. listening to The Shadow 😊?

When it comes to classic literature, if you're only reading what you like, then you are necessarily limiting your growth potential. What are your goals when you read classic literature?
