You don't have to use one of your vassals or subjects to educate yourself, you can offer yourself to a foreign ruler as a ward if you need a teacher with higher stats

One way to farm out prestige is to conquer ireland. Even if you don't hold anything yourself, or even give the vassals independence later, you can quickly form the duchy titles and even the kingdom. Great way to land an excess kid, too.

this was the first achievement i ever actually tried to get in ck3, started as fairhair in norway and it took multiple generations (including some where i was years away from being able to do the decision) it's so hard but so worth it, and if you reform the astaru faith you can be in a position in 1066 where the vikings dominate all of europe

You can click on a banner in the military tab, that way you can change your location just as you'd click on it on a map, additionally you can change location after clicking on a banner and then right click anywhere.

I like to start as the lowly count of Mann, elevate the kingdom of Mann and then work towards the north sea empire. Provides for a decent length rags to riches playthrough

I love the fact you casually mention a dude who slowly creates the identity of England and builds his kingdom and then gets absolutely curb stomped by some Nordic dude.

My first successful world conquest was with Empire of the North Sea as my primary title. I don't think I'd do it again because the bonuses from the decision don't outweigh splitting Britannia and Scandinavia into three separate empire titles. I did it in a shorter campaign last week in one life. I conquered Norway and Denmark, then used a kingdom invasion on England when my king was 45 and stuck him on life support.

I never forget, these were my ancestors! Hats off to Cnut the Dane, Eric Bluetooth, Harald Fairhair, Ivar the Boneless, Harald Hadrada, and the rest of the bois.

Sad i don't have the northern lord's dlc anymore cuz I have to use my old crappy Xbox since my pc is getting repaired. But I've done this before and it's a really fun campaign and I've had some pretty sick campaigns. Like reforming Rome FULLY as Byzantium, reviving Hellenic faith as a Persian count. And probably my most favourite (it was on the fallen eagle mod) Was re-establishing Francia but as the gallic tribes. Honestly those three campaigns have been my best thus far.

I might try this achievment since my multitude of Single county Count to Greater Armenia campaigns ended in turmoil. This actually seems relaxing compared to being sandwiched between 3 empires that all want a piece of your cake lol

Somewhere down the line Paradox has to try and simulate the rise of famous people and the quick rise and fall of certain kingdoms/empires. They tried with the child of destiny mechanic and invasions in CK2 but CK3 needs a less half-hearted buggy/gimmicky implementation of it.

Why does Haesteinn only invade Mercia lately? Northern Mercia to be precise. He used to take on entire empires, but now just a couple of counties in England.

I have suggestions for EU4 just in case you need ideas -Great Plains Horde and conquer America, you can also do more -Play as Dai Viet or Korea, conquer China, get the Mandate and sinicize because they got cool missions for this sort of stuff Also Laith hates Denmark and has been a bad boy

34:35 - Edit: ok so, you go into the military tab, and you can just click on the rally point at the bottom of the tab, and you can then move it from that interaction instead of finding it on the map. ok so this will be hard to describe from memory, but IIRC* there is a way to quickly move your rally point to a specific province as long as you are in the military tab, there should be a visible button on any province, you might have to click on it, that allows you to instantly move the rally point there, let me actually log into the game to confirm.

I tried to go for the achievement related to this decision and came close to achieve it 2 times and both time I was set back because of a crusade for england, the first time I had the perfect setup, I inherited Norway and subjugated Denmark, I had only 1 heir so he would've inherited all the land, so I prepared to invade England so my heir could wait the 30 years, everything was set and a crusade for England was declared so my invasion was delayed, I died early in the crusade and my heir thankfully prepared as an amazing martial character, won the crusade of 15k vs their 40k after years, right after it I conquered latium and sacrificed the pope in a blot, conquered England, the year if 949 and I had only to wait out the 30 year of keeping England, as my character was old and I had multiple heirs, I pumped everything for whole of body and health in hope to maybe survive long enough, 7 years remaining to be able to make the decision, get a notification that my character will die in 1 year, bummer but no matter, everything is fine for th3 heir, army is capable to take down any rebellion and strong enough to both invade and subjugate the 2 lost kingdoms in a short time, another crusade for England fires... Character dies in the early part of the crusade again, new player character is on, 2 rebellions fire mid crusade, liberty and and dissolution, crusade is lost as, I put down the rebellion and I'm immediately assassinated, now new heir is the grasso who I raised as another amazing martial character but, I'm basically the only remaining asratu kingdom and have only Norway, England is fully independent and feudalized, Denmark and Sweeden somehow also became catholic and all my vassals hate me, so I basically revoked every title with a border out of line or that joined the rebellion, executed everyone rebellious, with kingdom made anew, everyone in my kingdom hates and is terrified of me, 100 relation foreigner? Recruit him ang give him a duchy, now is at - 100 and terrified, now I gave up the achievement for the run and on my way to make the empire of Italia and dismantle the papacy as the end goal of the run, no single military is stronger than mine except the 100k of the abassids so let's hope they don't jihad me for Sicily

You say that Knud was the creator of the North Sea Empire, this is not entirely true. In fact, it was his father Svend forkbeard who was the first to conquer Norway and England as Danish king. So why don't we hear about him. Because he died shortly afterwards under mystery before he could be named king of England. And as one of his 29 generation offspring, I am proud that my nickname over Steam is. King of the North Sea Empire.

Okay, what are the odds. I literally did a run to get the achievement for forming this empire 2 days ago. The worst part was that after a full day of playing I messed the achievement up because you're supposed to take the decision and form the empire while you're an unreformed pagan and I reformed the religion. I feel like this is salt in the wound seeing this video so soon after fucking the run up. EDIT: Btw fuck the waiting for 30 years clause. Makes it take a lot longer than it has any right to.

The random extra troops with the holy order is why I hate alliances in this game so much, start a war with a singluar weak county, couple hundred men, start a siege and then the next thing you know, you're at war with France also, cause they married into an alliance, so France sends it's entire military to help some random county, that would serve it no purpose to help

yeah i hate that the whole "attempted murder" is unpunishable. Like if a scheme is uncovered/exposed you should deff be able to arrest/punish on grounds of conspiring against the crown.
