Jakarta sounds like a place full of skyscrapers, mosques and a country with a majority of muslim population, however did you know that there is a Thai Temple in Jakarta? Me and my friends will go to North Jakarta and tell you more about Vihara Dhammacakka Jaya a fascinating Buddhist temple in Jakarta.

Happy to see Buddhism still alive in Indonesia and professed by locals. Ancestors from Srivijaya and Majapahit will at least be pleased that the glory up to 1400 years ago did not go lost forever. Remember, despite key Buddha's own language Pali words have disappear, but they remain in Bahasa Indonesia - the most important being "human being" - Manusia. Please let the religion of your ancestors remain - they do not pose any threat.

In Indonesia many Monastery. You can Visit Padepokan Dhammadipa Arama in Batu-Malang East Java Indonesia. You can Visit Buddhavamsa Monastery in Lombok Indonesia etc..

Indonesia is historically a sacred land for pilgrimage that Buddhist scholars often visit. It had one of the most and biggest temples in the world

I agree. There is also this famous temple called Borobudur which is a heritage and is one of the seven wonders of the world is knows as the largest Buddhist temple in the world.

Thai buddhist temple but i see they use Indonesian style Buddhist art. The makaras on the stair, East Javanese style naga on the fence, and Borobudur style relief decorating the main building. Which is good.

Indonesia is the largest muslims based on government statistic about 85% concetrated mostly in Island of Java, Sumatera and Sulawesi. This three Islands is the most crowded Islands in Indonesia. If you go to another Island like Kalimantan, you will see a lot churches there especially West and Central Kalimantan, then both West Papua and Papua provinces in Island of Papua are majority is Christians, there is Catholic majority in East Nusa Tenggara Province. North Sumatera and North Sulawesi have majority Protestant, also Maluku, North Maluku and Central Sulawesi have sizeable Cristian population. Bali is the only Hindu province in Indonesia.

Buddhist temple is everywhere. You can choose the Chinese version or indian. But mostly that's Chinese version.

You use 3 incense sticks it's the tradition. In sri Lanka there's no such thing (my country), so there are different traditions. Buddhist philosophy doesn't change though, different teachers may change it or they may explain it with different ways. But we should understand from our wisdom 🙏🌱
