It doesn't happen very often but occasionally you have an incredibly awesome day metal detecting. This beach was absolutely loaded with treasure!. I found a BIG 14k GOLD Ring, several pieces of silver and lots of coins while metal detecting the beach with my Minelab Equinox 900.

To do it correctly it does cost initially, Equinox 700 or even 600 is perfect for pros and beginners. CKGscoop.com for my scoop wich is a must have on the beach. Thank You 👍

I enjoy watching your videos. Very informative and helpful. I am from Canada and would plan to visit California. I have a Deus 2 and would love to try it out on some of the beaches down there. Can you tell me if there are any restrictions for non residents.

There are no restrictions for metal detecting the beaches, you do not need any permits either. However, stay away from digging in Marine Protected zones. (tide pools of Laguna area for example.) Good Luck, I have been wanting to try the Deus 2, I hear a lot of great things about it.

Hey Jim yeah I believe that was one to remember for sure,and Hailey is looking good as well, that's great. I would say that it is a bottle cap or even a piece of bimetal bling jewelry but I think that you might try to trip us up, my guess is going to be one of those war nickels that you like to trip us up with, regardless I would dig it up.

Any explanations why targets sometimes collect in the same area ?

In this case it is really rare for that area of the beach to produce, the swells with change in current combined with the off shore topography is why that 100 yard linear area produced. It only lasted 3 days until sanded in again.

Looks like most detectorists must be going on and display and sounds in that area and passing up a lot of good targets. Or do you think it's more that the ocean is just continuing to refresh the beaches?

Big beach with one 100 yard linear area that produced was caused by swells and change in current. The Topography off shore helped and really rare that area produces.

KZfaq needs an expert category to put people into because, you are definitely one! That attention to detail and knowledge is excellent. I can't say enough, your videos just appeal to the Marine Corps side of me. Always do your best and know what you are doing, you've got that locked down for sure!
