Anyone looking for the second chapter, the video has been up for about three years now. Its called ' Reunited with my dad's 2000GT 50 years later!'

My eyes got a little moist, and I had a grin from ear to ear. Man......Man!!!! I am 60. My grand dad was a mechanic and raced hill climbs. One of my earliest memories was watching Jack Brabham racing in Formula 1 in the 60s, sitting on my grand dad's bed with him....he was sick in his final years. When I was 3 or 4 he'd show me where to check the petrol, oil, and let me hold the air pressure hose. He'd pop the engine cover, start the car up then get me to pull an ignition cable so I could hear what a car firing on 3 or 5 cyliinders sounded like. If he had lived, I am sure I'd have followed in his footsteps. I absolutely loved supercars and motor racing. He passed when I was 6. There's something about cars that transcends generations and unites men from all walks of life. There'd be no wars if men from across the world could just hang out with cars.

This is hands down my favorite video. Viva Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and the only Toyota 2000GT that was on the island!

So now I have to wait for Game of thrones, the Avengers movie, and you to drive this 2000 Gt.

I think it's safe to say we need a PART 2 of this, streamed or recorded by Ed himself. I would breakdown in tears with Emile if the guy just gives him the car on that faithful day. The 1994 red Chevy Cavalier and 1980s navy Cadillac De Ville were my childhood.

Now this was an outstanding video can wait to hear and see when goes to drive the car..

Emile, This is a cool story, Rewind circa August 1992... I was manager of a mid sized towing company in Hollywood FL. We towed for the local dealerships, a few shops and AAA. I spend the week before Hurricane Andrew going around So. Florida picking up vehicles for one of our awesome dealerships, to store away before the storm. During that time, a close friend of my dad's who also owned the local Toyota dealership asked us to come down and get a list of cars he needed moved, which I did. I moved 4 of his 2000 GT's back to the Toyota dealership's private storage vault, yes vault. Inside on blocks were 2 2000 GT race cars, plus as i added to the vault the others. This was the Private collection of James Moran who owns Southeast Toyota Distribution, World Omni Leasing, Southeast Toyota Motor Finance, and several dealerships. Mr. Moran left us a few years ago, but his legacy lives on.. Great memories never fade......... Bill - Atlanta, GA

Last time I was this early, I didn't realize cleaning the AMS shop was my dream job.

IMO, this is the best story I've heard on this channel. I don't understand why Emile cannot say the F-word (Ferrari), but he can mention other car manufacturers.

Dont forget the 2000gt was also in the james bond film you only live twice I'm pretty sure they had to remove the roof as sean connery could not fit in the car.

this was an awesome story, made me emotional for emile. personally it also hit me when he said its part of what led him down his path to becoming a racing driver, a car designer along with the inspiration from his dad. im 28 and it used to be my dream to be a car designer, as a kid I sucked at drawing and art but would draw cars all the time. I applied for an automotive engineering high school program and got in but wasnt allowed to go and my dad always told me it was stupid and that I was too stupid and didnt even know how to change a tire or do anything with a car and would never be able to learn. Now after moving and getting away from that Ive learned that probably came from a place of insecurity and him not liking or wanting me or my brothers to know more than him or about anything he didn't feel confident about. Now I have my fun car and a bike and learn what I can and its awesome having that freedom and encouragement and meeting people in the community but its such a shame all the time that was wasted and negative mindset we developed as a result that has to be unlearned. Conversely its inspiring and motivating hearing stories like this, and about fathers like Emiles and seeing the kind of enthusiasm that can be cultivated out of it. Loved how that man also wanted to share the car with him not just as a pleasantry but for a real, shared experience. Cars really are special man, and so often also are the people that care about them.

This is my favourite Vinwiki story so far. Its amazing the connections you make if you drop your gaurd a little and chat with people.

I get that feeling every time I think about my dad old 51 Chevy he put so much time and effort into when I was growing and was forced to sell when our family needed money. One day I hope to recover that old truck put as much love and care into it as i can and pass it on to my son..

What a great story which reminds me of a friend who was about 15 years older than me. He had a small collection of cars including a white hardtop MGA twin cam and Porsche 914. He bought the MGA because he bought a new red convertible MGA twin cam when he qualified as an Architect. His one car regret was selling that car two years after he bought it. On his 50th birthday his wife gave him an MG key and told him to look outside. He was greeted by the sight of a red MGA. So he quickly dressed went down and was pleased to see it was a twin cam and amazed to see it had the same registration as the car he sold all those years ago. His wife had tracked down and bought the very car he regreted selling. Not a bad 50th birthday present.

We have to see Emile's reunion with the 2000GT. This is the best VINwiki story in a long time. Thank you so much for sharing.

Best VINWiki video so far. I worked for Ferrari as a monkey for many years and my second favourite moments were listening to car nerds origin stories.

I once went to a local auto show, and saw an OG Mini Cooper, outfitted for racing. Got to talking to the guy, he asked who my father was. Yep, it was my dad's old racing Mini.
