Hey Alfie :) As we keep moving one day at a time through this very strange Covid season, I’ve been thinking a lot about risk management. How much time do we spend in our work days thinking about risk? I can pretty much guarantee not enough. And yet, it is proven that spending time brainstorming potential risks that could impact our ability to achieve our goals radically increases the probability of achieving those goals on time and in their entirety! Risk planning is a big part of my job. At the beginning of every project and periodically as we progress, I sit down with key team members and we brainstorm every possible risk we can think of. Then, we take time to think creatively about how we could proactively plan activities to mitigate the possibility of that risk happening (or eliminate it altogether). One of the projects I worked on last year was a cost saving project that would lead to $50,000 a week in savings once we launched. Which meant, every week the project delayed, the company effectively LOST $50,000 (now that’s pressure)! We spent hours evaluating and re-evaluating risks as the project progressed. Because of that work, we mitigated 2 months of delays out of our schedule-which made a big impact on our ability to launch on time! Are there any projects that come to your mind that could have used a little more risk planning beforehand? P.S. (I'm so glad you're getting to start seeing friends, even from a distance!)

Hey Alfie, I suffer from really bad hay fever to the point I get nosebleeds. What I use to unblock my nose is Airwaves menthol & eucalyptus flavour chewing gum and putting Vaseline around my nose to stop pollen. Try it and see if it works. Lizzie
