There was negative resistance in the beginning of original vanilla. But curse of shadows made shadowbolt crit for 5k so they removed it in patch 1.9

You also get OP resist +20 Fire/Frost resist scrolls as a mage too if you manage to open them! Ya basically immune to anything for 30 minutes!

The Calvary doesn't get to that part of the map that fast, that's just people running back and forth, especially given the levels of most of the Horde. The amount of quests that involve running that route back and forth between Sun Rock, the two quest givers on the road, the little troll camp, the kobolds and spiders is crazy. Stone Talon is such a great zone for wpvp because of all the choke points Edit: by the time they were in the goblin area for a while, _that's_ when the Calvary was there.

I use the same build as you, except found Living Bomb to be more useful against melee than Arcane Blast. It's nearly impossible to get a Blast off against a good warr, rogue, druid, hunter. And if you get kicked/CS'd it REALLY screws you. I'd rather have Living Bomb just to prevent restealths, or for some slow damage against really good opponents where I know an Arcane Blast is just gonna be a waste of time. So for general mage pvp, I prefer Living Bomb for the ease of application, and utility it can provide.

I FOUND THE BEST MAGE BUILD. 16 frost for 1 point shatter. 3 to 4 point ice shard. burnout, mass regen, arcane blast. you can heal nuke and frost em to get shatter and burnout to proc huge crits of either frost or arcane blast. I prefer to just spam FROST BOATS ... set sail for crit yo! I AM VULLZAAR THE FROST MAGE THIS IS MY FROSTBOAT BUILD

If you've got so many abilities to slow and stop people getting to you , especially when you can 3 tap someone with arcane blast I think all the points into frost are wasted

@Xaryu if this season will keep following the same steps as Ascension did all classes will get combinations of buffs for pairs of abilities when used together such as insta casts and reduced cast times. Maybe they implement them directly and including mages all classes will become super strong. Remember it’s just level 25 so far. There are endless possibilities even with end game content.

I believe the major downside of this build which isn't showcased in this video is how Temporal Beacon can be dispelled. In BGs it's a major issue especially as Alliance against Shamans who all love to spam Purge . It'd be fair if it was not dispellable imo but doubt the dev team cares much about PvP atm.

It's just so funny to me that they nerfed arcane explosion by 80% but touched nothing else, like this was the main problem. Nothing changed. RANK 2 AE heals 5HP per mob. One Arcane Blast heals 150. You have to hit 30!!!! mobs to heal just as good arcane blast. The living flame heals 33 per tick per mob. More than 6 times as much as AE, while ticking faster and cost nothing. AE is expensive, heals nothing and does nothing compared to the damage of living flame. It's now completley undertuned and my mage healer never really uses AE anymore for any form of healing. I would need to tank more mobs so AE does more, but I will also just recieve more damage. The healing throughput is just never enough for AE, it became a useless skill and completely outscaled by arcane blast and living flame. The only reasonable use for it over arcaneblast single target or living flame CD(which has 33% uptime on CD), is to kill non elite mobs. They said they didn't want to make dungeons irrelevant with how strong the heal is and then decided to make a spell that wasn't even the main source of heal, mostly irrelevant. With arcane missles also being terrible in damage and mana cost, runes are the only things a mage really needs to use. The basekit almost became equal to situational skills like distract of the rogue.

That rogue was so damn bad, wtf was that. I know US has good players but I swear the average skill level is way lower. Seems like they are all holding buttons for no reason. Honestly the way you get your loot really shits me off, you can't act like you got loot through skills and do everything on your own when the most important thing is getting gear! You literally always get the most elite groups that will never roll on your gear like your entitled and that is what changed my opinion on ya. Sorry but this especially classic is so gear reliant so the fact you can't build up like the rest of us makes me wonder if you can actually do these duels. Sorry but I know damn well that gear means more than skill in this game

All have zero resistance yet 6/10 races all have 10 resistance to either shadow, frost , nature and arcane but aparently according to use all lvl 25's have zero? Got all the gear in 1 day with all your boys lining up and making sure no one will ever roll on it then running around killing under leveled under geared players? Lmao. I can't bring myself to do it. I hate mage with a passion as it's by far the worst class I have ever played in wow. Crazy I loved mage so much until they totally gutted it. Your killing under leveled players I can't bring myself to do it I feel bad, one thing I will say though is after i realize3d mages are trash and got no one to carry me to the best gear I started a rogue and at lvl 18-19 I clapped so many mages all in 20's and didn't lose once until I versed a geared lvl 25 and it was still close so the second I hit 25 I am making it my mission to get that free honor from them because majority don't stand a chance. So good on rogue cause they think they can just nova and either blink or run to get distance but it's a root so I quick draw them to stop them running because we all know they getting enough distance for poly and a drink then after slowed hit em with another arrow then sprint to saber slash gouge and now I have another quick draw I hit em with that and have 4 combo points and then I send a stun and usually it's over and I still got evasion and vanish left once i hit 22 so if they manage to get out of that which they can i suppose I can vanish and use my macro to shadowstrike with the sneaky glove change and they are screwed. May not work on you because you live and breathe this game since day 1 but certainly free honor for me on rogue. Honestly I have seen your duels and I think once you actually play the big boys your going to want to reroll just like Ziqo did . I saw you get whooped by savix, you are one of the best players and I can see how serious you take the game like it's the most important thing in life and I can respect it but if this was the bracket for 3 mths there is no way you would not re roll or go back to HC for some easy pve
