Baby squid seems to be a L. brevis maybe? I've caught thousands when I used to work for the National Resource Center for Cephalopods in Galveston. The little "flying" fish was a sea robin which I think you did call it later in the video. Important to note that it's not the same as the Pacific flying fish people think of when you use that term. Super cool videos man I love seeing these sorts of channels, keep it up.

I remember swimming in Long Beach Island, NJ during a summer where the water was abnormally warm, and there were tons of jellyfish that sting in the water. My family gave up swimming for the rest of the beach trip because of it.

Tropical species such as grey triggerfish and flying fish are more common this year off the coast of Halifax. Its because the weather is becoming increasingly warmer than usual. The weather has been affecting native flora and fauna but it has also brought some unusual marine visitors up North to Nova Scotia waters.

It was a good haul! Started slow but you got more interesting finds along the way. That squid was so beyond adorable. As for the supposed baby flying fish, I'm not entirely sure I agree that's what it is, but between the lighting and the stress of the fish it's not as clear to see on the camera. I do see the resemblance, though, so I'm happy to trust your eyes over the footage.
