군대에서 사마귀한테 돼지 살고기(피부 붙어있는) 조각을 몰래 몰래 주면서 키운적 있었는데, 나중에 인간까지 공격하게 되더라구요. 방아깨비 잡아서 넣어주는 찰나 손을 공격하고 먹으려고 입 가져다대는 행위를 반복적으로 하게 되었고, 반대로 귀뚜라미같은 곤충만 넣은 사마귀는 별다른 반응이 없었습니다. 진짜 육식한번하면 곤충이 변하고, 동물 육식으로 쭉 키워보면, 새끼들도 되게 큰 애들이 나옵니다. 점점 사마귀들이 진화 함. 원래 곤충 싸움시키려고 잡아와서 키웠던 사마귀였는데, 색다른 경험을 했습니다. 근데 소고기를 주신 영상보고, 다시 그때가 생각납니다.ㅋㅋ 쭉 동물 육식 고기 주며 키워보세요. 나중에 주인 손가락도 고기인줄 알고 덤벼듭니다. 가만히 있으면, 손가락을 먹는데, 녹여먹는 느낌으로 따끔따끔 거리다가 통증이 안느껴지지만 구멍 뽕 뚫려있어요. 시간 지나면 따끔한 통증옴. 사마귀들이 먹을 때, 통증안느끼게하는 분비물을 뿌리며 녹여먹는 느낌이라, 신기했던 기억이.. 단독포대라 상황실에서 곤충 많이 키우고 테스트해봤었는데ㅋㅋ 암튼 감회가 새로워 장문의 글 쓰고 갑니다. 좋은 하루되세요.

i think it's cute how after a mantis is done eating, it licks its hands/legs similar to us licking our fingers after a delicious meal! 사마귀가 식사 후 손/다리를 핥는 모습은 마치 우리가 맛있는 식사를 하고 나서 손가락을 핥는 모습과 비슷하게 귀여운 것 같아요!

Yes! They are very clean animals. Whenever they eat or step in something they immediately go to clean. They routinely trail down their claws and legs like a cat does.

i've done a lot of research in the past trying to find out what's safe for my mantis to consume, and as long as it isn't too tough, it should be safe - it's stated in the video that if they eat too much they could die of intestinal blockage, but i'd like to add that this applies moreso if it's the food is too solid. If they hook on, they're bound to eat until they can't anymore. I haven't had to yank the food from them because they've always stopped eating before it became too much. every time, i pat whatever i'm going to feed them with a paper towel, and wash it with a little water. here's some things that i've fed my mantis before. baked chicken; with a heavy preference for white meat. one of the things they like the most are veins, which i pull off the bone. don't feed them the skin. raw beef, very similar cut to what's used i couldn't ever get them to eat fish, but they love squid and octopus it seems (cooked). great video as always,, can't wait to see what will happen!!

Stick to feeding them live prey, similar to what they would find in the wild. Fruitflies, green & blue bottle flies, dubia roaches and wax moths are the best things any mantis can have in captivity. They get most of hydration from food but spraying the enclosure with water help to prevent any blockage. They can't really overeat as they will drop the prey or just vomit out the excess food.

@@TenkosSSJ of course, this is only when things get tough. i have a mealworm tray i keep that will tide them for only a little while - it can be hard to keep fruit flies in my position, however. it was just, suddenly very entertaining to feed them chicken every now and then, and they obviously loved it a lot. i'd never advocate trying to replace their diet with it even half way, but it can save you so much time in a pinch.

fascinating, i was initially pretty worried but i suppose it can't be _too_ bad for them as so many types of bugs feed on carcasses of larger mammals. mantises are actually quite closely related to cockroaches, fun fact :)

Awwww it’s so cute! On December 2022 I had an Mantis named Minty, she was an Giant Asian mantis, I gave her prawns but she didn’t eat cuz it was her last stage.. She had flew away but I found her after 2 weeks and she had layed eggs by the time I found her so she was week and died after a week, I cried a lot cuz I got her right after she was born 😢

@@nice_8686그렇긴 하지만 본인 앞에서 반복적으로 큰 머리가 움직이면 먹이를 주거나 항상 좋은 일이 생긴다는 학습이 되어서 나타나는 반응인듯. 큰 머리가 왔다갔다 하면 맛있는게 오는 구나.

6:38 부터 레몬이가 수분을 감지하고 보이는 행동으로 목이 많이 말랐던 모양입니다. 사냥을 위해 먹이를 응시하고 앞다리로 낚아챌때와는 다르죠ㅎㅎ 8:15부터는 더이상 먹지 않고 버리려는 행동으로 배가 딱히 고프지않음을 알 수 있네요~
