Wow, you got Brian, Dennis, Carl, Mike and Al all with one set of vocal chords! Impressive. One thing you forgot. You're supposed to tap your right temple with your right index finger when you sing ". . . where the kids are hip." It's a Mike Love thing 🤣🤣🤣.

I grew up listening to the Beach Boys in the 60’s and I gotta say your cover was outstanding Richie! Sounded so authentic! Great job dude! 👍

Great job Richie, you captured the feel and harmonies well. Perfect timing...a summer song for sure. After taking drum lessons in the winter of '64, I would play along with this when school got out in June. I used a chair in the living room as my drum set. My practice pad was the snare, the right arm of the chair my ride, the left arm the hi-hat. I even had a souvenir Indian tom-tom wedged into the cushion as my floor tom and a metal coffee can cover on a stick as my crash. I didn't learn much about drumming, but I learned about arrangements, counting 4 measures, where to put the drum fills etc. and of course the magic of being part of the music.

Very nice. My only comment is the the Beach Boys used a clean guitar sound back then so your use of distortion sounds strange. But, all the notes are right.

In the making-of video, he explains that he put a little dirt on the Ricky to add depth, because on the original track, there seemed to be a bari sax doubling that part.

It’s called vocal doubling. It’s an effect now, but back then yes they used to record it twice

Great song, great job, way too many effects on the vocals, they would have been better more natural.

There are minimal effects used on those vocals. He sang each harmony part twice just like in the original. If you do not believe me, he has a podcast recording every part in this song that you can check out.
