Once again, I may have 'out humoured' a few people. Let's call it Satire.... I was trying to make a point that nearly everything is made in China (or Taiwan) for the RC Hobby. I just found it funny that nowhere on the box could I see where it was made...apart from the TA Head Quarters address. I'm sure a lot of you knew what I was getting at..and I thought I made it obvious. I might put a disclaimer at the start of my videos haha. Anyway.... carry on....

As much as I love 1/10 and 1/8 stuff, you can't beat these smaller scale cars that you can just chuck in a small rucksack. Great review!

I’ve been using Team Associated cars for 30 years. My experience is that AE doesn’t make actual basher grade cars, they are all race grade designed to handle and perform. I have a 14B and have all the upgrades and it outperforms everything in it’s scale but like I mentioned, when bashing the diffs have given me issues breaking the spider pins and the stock bearings have had issues. So I would highly recommend back up diffs, new quality bearings and if Bashing also I recommend T-Bone racing front and rear bumpers. But although a plastic chassis it’s incredibly durable structurally and is way faster than I expected out of the box. If used for serious racing it’s definitely worth the investment but if just for bashing I would suggest a inexpensive toy/basher grade WLTOYS ❤️

Right I picked up a lot of about 6 complete and 4 parts 1/18 from Associated chassis from a racers restock and There is even a dual motor mod on one parts chassis that both factory diffs smoked on first run lol. But really they are definitely built for racing rather then bashing . I personally love my belt driven rc18sc novak brushless and it smokes most of my 1/10 factory systems for reliability.

I have a 14b & it's a very well balanced rig & tons of fun. Only issue is that parts seem hard outside the US (I'm in Australia) without paying mega prices. That's why WPL are picking up customers in the lower end of the market as upgrades/spares are pennies & the cars are also inexpensive. But the balance of the 14b makes it worthwhile for me.

AE is legendary. Love their cars; An old RC10 nitro was the first and only nitro I've driven, and it was still a blast. Well done review! Their MT8 has caught my attention...

What a wee pocket rocket! Fantastic thing. Also, the difference between lipos was crazy... 25 to 32 mph is a 28% increase!

oh wow 32mph, very nice. i use my old school 3inch drone batteries from tatu in my 14/16/18 scale cars. HUGE difference. Nicely done!

I have a belt driven RC18T with a brushless 2/3 S lipo. Thing is a beast. Shame they discontinued it. Saw the new 1/14 scale models & wanted to see hands on. Thanks for the vid.

Great little buggy. I really like mine. Rear shock springs need to be replaced though. For whatever reason Associated used the same length springs in the rear that they use in the front even though the rear shocks are longer. The rear shock are preloaded to the max just to level the car out. Use the Associated Factory Team Gold/Yellow springs. Part #21558.

Got 2 of these awesome rigs. I have since modded one with a castle mamba micro x and the 8200kv motor. It is bloody fricken nuts and an absolute joy to run in small areas. No one expects to see something that small move so quick.

@@Zachary48 When I get a chance I'll upload a few pics. Pretty much used deans high temp T plugs so I could use stock Batts and I took a castle sidewinder ESC fan, and installed in sideways behind the motor for a cooling fan. The natural setup allows it to look really clean. Runs cool, around 130 to 145 motor Temps after 20 plus min of running. Using a 11tooth pinion.

Awesome little buggy. My first proper race truck was a 2wd 1/10 truck T3 Team Associated back in 2000. They make great race RCs. The Rival 10 and 8 seem pretty awesome from the vids I've seen. Cool vid Tomley. 🔥 Can't wait to see a comparison vid with the Banggood special. 🔥👍✌️

I race my 14b on carpet its a great little buggy, only issue I have found is the diff seals leak. Against the wl toys there is no comparison, I haven't broken mine yet and the guys who run wl toys at the club are repairing every week.

I put sway bars and a few other goodies on my reflex14b and I gotta say, it's very good for what it is. The optional Factory Team parts are good too. I put a better esc in mine cause I like 3s and the esc don't like it but the motor is fine. The shocks are ok but the F.T. ones are better.

We raced these on carpet tracks. Put the swaybar kit on it for carpet racing. They are fast and agile on 1/10 scale carpet tracks.

Have had this for some time now... the issue is the bearing on the center diff explodes and mushrooms the plastic piece in the driveline. 1st thing to do is to replace that bearing with something like a ceramic bearing so it can take the heat/ abuse the center diff takes. I hate how the ESC/ remote is set up... there is a massive delay, so I actually put a Traxxas Velineon VXL 3m in it with the Traxxas Velineon 380 motor. I also put in a Traxxas receiver with TSM (gryo) and a Saxov servo. The servo is a strange size so be prepared for some dremmeling. Honestly, it's a lot of work to actually get this car to be fun like the LC Racing or WL Toy's buggies.

Have you ever looked at the LC Racing EMB/LC12 series, or their RTR "Tacon" versions? They're the basis for the WLToys 1/12th and 1/14th cars. The LC Racing kits are meant for racing but I have an EMB-T that I built last year out of a brushless 'pro kit' and it's bonkers. It's not really meant to go to the moon and stuff but it's a complete blast - extremely fast and handles amazing and you can tweak everything. Plus, you can either get a Tacon and just run it around, or get an LC Racing kit and build it which puts skin in the game. The only problem with building them is that the diff bits are microscopic.

Firstly great video as always 👌 secondly I just bought my first rc boat which came with a 850mah lithium iron 2s battery which I knew wasn't going to be great so I ordered that exact CNHL 2s lipo you had jn this video at the same time I ordered the boat. Anyway cut a long story short the boat was crap with the supplied battery even the servo was really weak so I stuck the CNHL lipo in thinking it would atleast wake it up a little bit but my god did it wake it up I couldn't believe the difference it was literally night and day I was really impressed with them lipos. It was my first time trying the CNHL but I've seen you say good things about them so decided to give them a try and ive found my new lipo supplier id even say there better than the gens ace lipos and cheaper so thanks for sharing buddy I'll put a video up tomorrow if you want to check it out to see the difference its nuts

This car is so underrated and there are very few videos about them. Unfortunately the issue holding this car back is that all of the gears are plastic, although AE does make metal diffs and input gears for it. Also the motor mount tooth slider is trash

Looks cool but for 250$ i expect a bit more , maybe 3S capability and full metal drive train , plastic diffs would melt when bashing. The new model from Wltoys is 3S capable and people have clocked it at 100km/h stock on 3S and yes it is the V2 combo 4300KV + 19T pinion and the blue remote.

Cnhl battaries are nice but first test the golden gxf do very good too. 8 cell big scale takes a pair of 100 euros worth of gxf power. Couldn't the ones at cnhl but I will try them too at some point. 100C is nice!

I got a 144010, 2 extra Lipo batteries, a better esc, and a set of street tires/wheels for less than a Reflex combo. It absolutely flies for a 14 scale and I’m really happy with it. That’s just my experience.

@@axe2grind244 Did they get it right with the 144010 on the first try? They certainly didn’t with the 124016 and the 124017. It’s like they did no testing before releasing it and got a LOT of negative reviews because of it.

On the race track. The TA blows it away. They race these on offroad carpet tracks. The LC is very gimmicky. Which ever you get put the sway pars on otherwise they will both traction roll on the carpet track.

Commented in another one of your vids that you should review this car... and here we have the review... lol! I've played around with this little bugger (and the inferior WLToys competitors) with various esc's. What is your recommendation for the BEST 1/10th scale esc for these buggies. I've tried the Castle Micro X (smoked it), the HW 10BL60 (smoked it), the HW 10BL120 (in the Reflex now), the Mamba X (in a 144001 with a 1/12th chassis), the Surpass Rocket TS160 V2 PRO (in a 124019). For speed runs, the Mamba X is my best so far having hit 112km/hr in playful speed runs. If only it were silent... Incidentally - I get 58 mph as my top speed with this little guy on 3S and it ALWAYS goes straight as an arrow. Can't quite figure out why it is so steady, while the WLToys buggies need a gyro and even then I regularly smash them up.

For racing can you use 7.6v or need be 7.4v are they 2s only in racing

pretty new to the channel but have you ever thought about or reviewed any of the redcat rc vehicles? pretty sweet buggy. should have gotten thought over the wltoy 144001 be interested in seeing how well it holds up.

I wonder if the dog bones and cvd's from this will fit my wl toys cars. I've been looking for upgrades because I'm constantly bending mine. But there R no upgrades I know of

I have this and the Losi Mini 8ight-T. I like my Mini 8ight-T alot better. Ever since I put the T-Bone bumper on it's been unstoppable..lol..
