I had a different WL Toys car when I first got in to RC and I had a brushless motor upgrade for it. That...thing...FLEW! I couldn't believe how fast it was for the $ and the SIZE that it is. It was actually durable. They are def. worth it.

@@TomleyRC I'm an old school sheet metal worker, the copper looking one is cool to me, but ya, the 500 is steep. Last month I turned 50, and my awesome wife, and her amazingly helpful coworker were able to get a moonswatch from the San Francisco store. They didn't want to sell her the watch, it was the last one they had. She gave them the story about it being a surprise for my birthday. And it had to be brought up to us in the PacNW. Long story is over now, lol, and I've got The Mission to Mercury on my wrist!

I have a very similar wltoys a979b! Ive put the pinecone 1/20th truck body on mine, and the titan 540 motor in it. Ive literally destroyed 4x sets of tires with it!! What tires would you recommend for off road type bashing? I tried redcats volcano 1/16 tires, those died fast... Great, hilarious vid as always!!

May I ask did you hear the diffs? As I had a strange incident with my greasing where I found washers in odd places? Could you remember whether there was tiny washers inside the diff, on mine on the back I had 1 small washer behind every asteroid gear and on front was odd like 2 on one 2 on another? Cheers

What is the pinion and spur gear tooth count ? just curious, my Tacon RC (it’s really the same car with a longer chassis) has a 2850 4500kv motor I used a 4s, 26 pinion meshed to a 60 spur gear and got it up to 78 mph with little over heating. It is amazing what these little cars can do. The factory setup of the wheel’s front/rear toe in and out is what gives them such straight tracking out of the box. Great video 👍👍

I did something similar to the my a959B and that wing does a lot for stability mine I tried it without the wings for a while it was terrible but I added the wing back on and it was amazing

Hahaha I did a similar build in 2021 but I’ve been afraid to drive it. It’s been sitting collecting dust. I think I’ll get a gyro and add a wheelie bar before taking it out this spring. Thanks for the motivation!
