I like this better actually. It’s very “the thing” and adds to the tragedy of letting the suit overtake you, otherwise what’s venoms consequence? He doesn’t mind being aggressive so.. the OG story it’s a win win for him to have the symbiote. With the skeleton ending it’s way more balanced and chilling.

Not that he wasn’t already in the film. I’m just giving kudos for getting the same idea quickly across given we haven’t seen him in the game up until this point

Definitely the best Venom has been done in any animated series, by far. Maybe his best onscreen adaption period, with only the Ultimate Spidey game arguably being on the same level with the character. Loved how Spectacular Peter's version of the black suit shifted designs as it took more and more control as time went on.

Well the producer's cut appearance implies that he's a figment of Harry's imagination so maybe that's why he didn't tell him

@@Cornholio174 Peter did try to tell Harry, though doing it while Harry was actively trying to kill him was probably not the best time. You could say Peter could've tried to talk to him about it after the second movie, but I got the vibe Harry wouldn't have been willing to listen

That's usually how movie tie in games go. Developers usually only get the script right before the movie comes out so they kinda have to take their game and adapt it around the movie plot not knowing for the most part how it goes.

I also believe it was the 90s cartoon that introduced the concept of the symbiote being a corrupting influence which really stuck in most subsequent adaptations. Neat how that works

The Ultimate show went way too hard on the symbiotes for sure. But I'll give them this, they had Peter be the original Carnage just like in the Ultimate Spidey game which was a really cool call back and you could even say both might've been a callback to Spider-Carnage at the end of the 90s series, though that might be a stretch.

@@Shift_Salt It's both like and not like the namesake as comic Ultimate Carnage was some weird clone of Peter mixed with Dr. Connors altered DNA and remnants of the Venom symbiote iirc Ya no idea why the show was called Ultimate Spider-Man, barely had anything in common with either the comic or game of the same name. Which is made even weirder by the version of Peter from the show being comic canon as he was in the Spiderverse comics, fourth wall breaks, cut away gags and all. Was actually pretty funny because he was paired up with comic Miles, who is also another Ultimate Spidey, but infinitely more mature than the Peter from the show and thoroughly unamused by his antics. Was a nice twist on the fact that this Miles was his Peter's succesor and the show's Peter was a mentor to its version of Miles. They both got to have the shoe on the other foot. I thought the multiverse stuff was when the show was at its best, would've been pretty cool to tie it to the 90s show that ended on a similar yet unfinished note. Knowing Spidey's legal situation though it wouldn't surprise me if they couldn't tie it to the older show due to the way the rights to Spidey are all over the place. But hey, the 90s X-Men show is coming back, you never know, we could get a revival of the Spidey cartoon too if X-Men is succesful. It's hardly forgotten, especially these days since it was the origin of the Spiderverse concept. He might even be allowed to punch bad guys now lol

@@JohnDoe-wq5eu well on top of just looking and playing better, you actually fight a kaiju sized Sandman as New Goblin. It’s a little jank but still really hype, and the Venom fight feels WAY better on 360/PC

Because Sam didn't like Venom or understand the appeal of the character. He went to the lengths he did for Gobby, Doc Ock and Sandman because those were beloved characters from his childhood. Venom was forced onto him for the third movie so he just slapped together an origin for it.

Iirc it started as the Spidey 3 black suit and gradually morphed into the comic version as it took more control of Peter, which I think was a great touch since the Raimi black suit still looks like the traditional Spidey suit

So you're saying the game traumatizing you was ultimately a good thing because it spared you Spidey 3?

@@zeroattentiongaming820 My movie standards are very low. Fox's Digimon the Movie is my favorite anime movie despite its shortcomings compared to the three stand-alone movies in Japan. I probably would have loved Spidey 3 anyways.

@@3slicessenpai Someone else who actually likes the Fox Digimon movie? Nani?!! Having seen the Japanese versions of all 3, I think people give the Fox version way too much shit. The first two parts are still pretty solid and I will die on the hill that the main Diaboromon movie was peak dub Digimon comedy. The third part though I get where people are coming from, the version we got was butchered to fit the run time sadly. It's really incomplete where the other 2 were edited in such a way that nothing of importance was lost. Ultimately though biggest issue I've got with it is not using Braveheart for the digivolution sequences. The dub never did, but it was so damn good in the movie, can't help but feel the dub not using it in the movie was an automatic downgrade

@@zeroattentiongaming820 I actually like how they try to link all three parts together with Willis. Diabomoron being a virus manufactured by him trying to create a third Digimon, that in turn infects Lopmon when it's reduced to loose data...it makes it so that the task of defeating this evil is like the Olympic Torch, carried between both casts.

Considering how well they handled Peter, MJ, Aunt May, Doc Ock, Norman Osborne and Miles, I've got very high hopes for Insomniac Venom

It is the psp version, but both it, and the ps2 are identical, save for a graphics downgrade.

How is the ps2 version different?

It's on PSP actually, the ps2/Wii version look a bit better than this

It's PSP version, because Matt said in one of the episodes that PS2 version doesn't emulate well and the Wii version has motion controls.

Having played the Ps2 version it was not this ugly. It was ugly, don't get me wrong but not this bad. As is to be expected, honestly impressed it looks this good for an open world PSP game. The Assassin's Creed game on PSP that had a gorgeous sparkling white limited edition PSP launch with it, looked nowhere near this good.
