omg this may sound super creepy lol but i’m a 14 year old who also lives in chicago and i’m wondering did you go to lane tech?? if so that is so cool, i chose it as my second choice in my high school ranking. but im actually hoping to go to payton. do you have any tips for someone going into a selective enrollment high school in chicago? ❤️❤️

Ahaha I will only say that I do have experience with Chicago selective enrollment lol. Almost all of getting in is just numbers unfortunately. That’s why I love talking about college application help because it’s more than just a score or something.

Actually my schools does not have AP courses like iam an international student, what should I do to have honors or awards? Also I think my academic essays is so bad lika iam express in very bad way, what should I do?

I feel like standardized scores are hella important. I don't understand how people get perfect GPA's and then get 3's on AP exams, that just screams grade inflation to me which I think is a problem. In my school kids who end with B's and C's in classes like AP Physics, AP BC Calc, AP Chem, Ap Lit, Apush, etc. just end up getting 5's on the exam but grade deflation messes up their college applications in comparison to others. I wish there was a way to standardize grades across schools.

Hi! I'm interested in studying abroad and I've heard you mentioned the CIEE programs in a few of your videos. You said you received the global nagivator scholarship which allowed you to study abroad for free and I was just wondering if you could you elaborate? As I said before, I'm interested in studying abroad but I'd be great if I qualify for a scholarship that allows me to do it for free. If you can go over the requirements for the scholarship and provide me with the link for the scholarship, thank you!

HI! I totally forgot to include that link in this description. The updated/correct link is now there. As for the scholarship, on top of applying for the program, you will also find where it says "scholarship application" and apply to that too. They are kind of separate things as the scholarship application has a couple essays of its own! Hopefully this helps, but be prepared to write a couple more essays for the scholarship portion. And just a heads up, you will likely still have to pay for the plane ticket even if the program is covered, so make sure to book on time when you get in!

So real!! I would definitely recommend doing like individual passion projects with humanities instead of just taking the APs cuz you think you should.

Congrattsss on REA!! Don’t even worry about it there’s so so many different types of clubs from all different cultures. Every culture has a space/ dorm where they can go and feel comfortable or meet people within their community. You should have so much fun and will find out a lot more on campus!

I am also a black girl and wow I am so happy there are more of us in these institutions! I am a 9th grader and was wondering do you think your award section is one of the most important like winning national awards? I dream of getting accepted one day!
