Manly is such an stupid word to use nowadays. It doesn't matter if it's "their opinion". Wearing a dress is not being masculine. Why do people confuse not caring what people think to being manly?? Females can have the same amount of confidence and there is absolutely nothing manly about it. This is why Logan was wrong on this subject. You are confusing being manly with not caring what other people think and those two have nothing to do with one another.

Women have little to no say on what is manly. Sorry, ladies. You are out of your element. No different than my suggesting anything about what is or isn't womanly. Being confident and not concerning yourselves about the opinions of others are in NO way affiliated with "manliness". Women can be confident too! So just because a guy is confident in wearing a dress, it doesn't make him manly. He's still in a friggin dress! Doesn't bother me. Shouldn't bother you. But "manly"... he is NOT.

But they do tho. Not in the literal sense obviously. But culture surrounding certain garments and tradition yea you can say certain garments were created for this gender or the other. People at gucci and Loui vuitton make clothes for men and for women. Meaning designed for a women to wear or a man to wear. That does not mean that a man cant choose to wear a garment initially made to attract the buying eye of a women consumer. If a man wants to wear that peice of clothing that is totally up to him and the makers of those clothes have no qualms over it. The reality of it though is that a designer had the vision of a women wearing that dress not a man. Today's dress makers aremt really making sundresses or ball gowns for men. Same way they arent making underpants women like they would make men. Let's say things for how they are we dont need to twist what's truth to push a progressive agenda. Clothes are made with gender in mind that is a fact. People can wear whatever they please as long as it covers them appropriately in public. If some people see it as weird and unmanly charachter for other men to wear a prom dress then that is completely normal and I'm ok with that. Now if they were to harass or harm him for wearing that then that's where I would have an issue.
@bigtherat
@bigtherat 3 жыл бұрын
@@get_woke8518 But they don't though. That's also the entire point, that society determined that "this clothing garment is for women" just based on sexism. Men wore pants so they could carry all their tools because they were the workers while women wore pretty dresses as a trophy for the man. So by saying dresses are "for women", you are just upholding the roots of a sexist tradition for no reason other than "that's how it's always been". You are also arguing a false point. Nobody is saying clothing is made without gender in mind. In fact that's literally the problem, in that it shouldn't. Besides men and women needing different sizes due to body differences, there is literally no need for the design of clothing to be made for a specific gender. It's also some weird toxic masculinity as women dressing in clothing for men is not only accepted but often sexualized. It's nice we've at least come to a point in society where most people agree to not harass men who want to wear a dress. But that's quite a low bar, the fact that there are many people who would call them less of a man because of it show that there isn't true acceptance. It's like when people say "it's fine if you want to be gay, but I don't agree with it". You aren't actually accepting it you just aren't actively shaming people for it.

Romans were wearing it because of the climate they were in....gain some knowledge then comment. Wearing a dress ain’t manly point blank. Judging someone is perfectly normal and a society that doesn’t judge is culturally and morally declining. “Don’t judge” logic is a slippery slope that has no end,inclusion is bad because it has no boundaries and leaves everything to be “right” based on subjectivity

I love that, people should not be treated like this for wearing clothes.. not too long ago in history they considered it improper for women to wear pants. Historically “dresses”/robes/togas/etc have all been worn by men, wigs, makeup, heels.. like why is there so much pressure on boys/men to be “manly” by recent standards, stuff like boys can’t cry, etc.. like crying is so healthy for everyone to do, there are so many proven health benefits from crying, yet this is still pushed by too many (I know it’s not the same as clothes but similar enough and bugs me the same)

Before you guys hate on George Janko, you should listen to him from the start till the end. Earlier he said that if Men wears skirt, it would be easier for men to pee. (This already shows that George wasn't against men wearing dress). Second of all, he also said that if a man sat infront of him while wearing a dress, he WILL treat the man as a normal human being and he will NEVER hate on the guy. BUT, if the guy with the dress ask George "Isit manly for a man to wear a dress?" GEORGE CAN SAY WHATEVER OPINIONS HE WANTS! He can say it is not manly or wht ever! If he has his own opinions, it doesn't mean that he's against it. Yall attacking George without watching the whole thing. HE'S NOT AGAINST MEN WEARING DRESSES! @Cyra Cyra Plain and simple, 1. men can wear a dress, fashion and appearance don’t change how “manly” a man is. man•ly having or denoting those good qualities traditionally associated with men, such as courage and strength. Clothing and fashion do not change a mans personal characteristics, it expresses themselves on what they want to wear. 2. No one is pushing other males to wear a dress, quite frankly it’s the opposite, this country restricts certain items because they aren’t “socially” correct, i thought America was the country of freedom but now it’s not the same if a man wears a dress. Your point and statement is invalid and next time, don’t make a statement on feelings, take the time to learn how cultural and fashion do not explain ones personal qualities instead of commenting some bullshit.

@jessosse I’ve seen your comments and I’m done with your bullshit Plain and simple, 1. men can wear a dress, fashion and appearance don’t change how “manly” a man is. man•ly “having or denoting those good qualities traditionally associated with men, such as courage and strength.” www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/manly Clothing and fashion do not change a mans personal characteristics, it expresses themselves on what they want to wear.

Yeah I thought that was mad weird at the time. A woman asking you to hold her purse all the time fair play, but while she fixes her shoes or goes to the bathroom? Come on. If you’re secure with your masculinity it’s not a problem. My partner is stereotypically ‘manly’ in many ways, I have a medical condition and he will take my bag off me when I’m struggling even if I’m protesting and happily and proudly wear a fluffy pink backpack. He finds it amusing to play on it. It makes me smile. A man who feels ok with themselves isn’t threatened by something like that so easily.

No discussion about what's manly or not needs to take place , no one needs to panic about manly men seizing to exist . Relax . It's just a cool artistic thing that's inspiring bc it promotes the message of not giving a f , which is cool and inspiring because the vast majority of people simply do not have that luxury . Everyone just chill. If you actually get upset by seeing sth like this and feel the need to criticize it , I'm genuinely worried about how your brain works.

this is literally why sexism exists. clothes do not have a gender and it does not make a man less “manly” if he wears a dress. i could name hundreds of women that have worn a suit and people empowered and encouraged them. i do believe that people have their own opinions but the people who are on the other side of this argument are straight up disrespecting any man that has ever worn or will ever wear a dress. confidence and clothes do not have a gender.

@@abdullahfaisal25 so you are telling me you have seen a grown women take her kids to school in a bikini?! we are taught our whole life that we have to dress and look like what people want us to look like. is it SO wrong for a man to wear a dress? please enlighten me. what harm is it doing to you? if this bothers you, i think you need to really think about your priorities in life.
