STOP spreading lies. Xiaomi offered the owner of the car that had the 39KM accident. two options, first, direct repair and compensation, but it will leave a record of the repair (which is normal), which the owner said he did not accept (he did not want to be cut down for it when he sells the car in a few years). Second, reschedule the production, but wait a few months. What was the final solution, Xiaomi rescheduled the production for him and offered compensation of 150 RMB per day in the meantime. That's basically the per capita income in China. Now the latest video has the owner happy and posting every day where he went to play today. Yes, Xiaomi isn't shirking its responsibility or compensating for useless points. This has been resolved for 2-3 days now, but unfortunately SAM, your information is not accurate, is Tesla not giving you updates? Or is it that the anti-Chinese media didn't do a follow up story leaving you without a source of information? Xiaomi is being praised by many for this move. Because just a few years ago, there was a famous incident on the Chinese internet where a lady had to sit on the hood of her Mercedes and bawl her eyes out because the Mercedes she purchased leaked oil before it even left the sales store and Mercedes shirked their responsibility until the incident was made a big deal Mercedes repaired her car and compensated her. There is no gap without comparison, never forget that.

This just goes to show that Xiaomi considers its products, including cars, as disposable items. That's not ecological thinking at all, what the whole movement is supposed to be about (but of course we all know it's about the green that goes into the policy makers' and corporations' pockets).

The Taycan looks nothing like this. Desperate western white supremacist approach to pretend that you westerners have ideas, too. Everything you have is stolen from us Slavic people (without Nikola Tesla you would have nothing...not even spark plugs for your outdated ICEs), from Asia, Africa, Italy (sure...you westerners and designing a car with an Italian design. 🤣).

I heard other stories of Chinese brand EVs in Europe having problems getting spare parts. Of course VW has had this issue in the US and Europe with the ID4 - long waits to get parts. Some Chinese EV companies don't seem to make and sell small individual parts, but instead offer modules. Problem with a tail light? Can't get that, but they will sell you an entire rear panel assembly that has a new light in it. That is way too much like electronics companies doing board swaps instead of actual repairs. I dont think car buyers will ever be fine with such a strategy.

Remember the owner who took his SU7 off the track? His latest video shows the repair order The Xiaomi SU7's headlights are only 5,000 a piece, not in dollars, not in euros, but in Chinese yuan. That's about seven hundred dollars a piece. Then there's the owner who couldn't be bothered to get the reservoir for his air suspension knocked off, which was replaced for less than a thousand yuan, or less than two hundred dollars. The same items, and all made in China, why only Xiaomi is willing to lower the price of accessories as well. Because XIAOMI is the people's XIAOMI, the user's XIAOMI

Started out that way. It may or may not still be the same factory but Xiaomi now has a factory due to SASAC. The state-owned investment companies of SASAC serve as a mechanism through which the Chinese government can influence the market through the use of capital rather than government directive. Xiaomi now has its own factories. Not sure how SOSAC arranged it.

Sam there are videos about the poor quality of xiaomi appliances and the horrid customer service. its going to take a bit before their cars will be fit for purpose. They also have crowed about using aluminum wiring in their cars which is dangerous. Aluminum wiring will not be allowed in the US as aluminum is not permitted to carry heavy electrical loads.

Yes, the same hype and religion has been made with Tesla EV's but that hype will also melt down because there are already much more better options in EV segment and in future even more. People are starting to see that now. ...and of course hard competition is always good for consumers and products.

While businesses like Xiaomi might owe their brand recognition to smartphone products, their underlying strength is systems integration and automation. If they iterate quickly on the design of the launch SU7, then that will be a good sign that the strategic move was in the right direction.

Sam doesn't know that Xiaomi is mainly known for its Smartphones and the scooter and lawnmower-robot he is mentioning is part of Xiaomi's large blended CVC & ecosystem approach. This blended approach means that while Xiaomi borrows from both traditional CVC and ecosystem businesses, its strategy differs from these models in several notable ways. First, in contrast to typical ecosystem models, Xiaomi takes a proactive, hands-on approach to supporting its partner ventures. While companies like Apple or Google make their operating systems available and share a set of relatively generic tools to help app developers create and release products on their own, Xiaomi actively enforces consistent branding and quality standards across its entire product portfolio.

Yes for sure Xiaomi are one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world and surely know a thing or two about software updates. I’d expect most teething problems would be addressed and sorted out over the air in fairly short order in the same way that new OS version bugs would be on one of their phones?

It's not entirely true; at least tens of millions of Chinese people frequently use KZfaq. I'm in China, and I follow him mainly to see how Chinese cars perform overseas. Regarding the Xiaomi SU7, I can confirm that there are no major quality issues so far. The owner whose car broke down after just 30km has received a replacement, and a few users have encountered loose fender issues. Despite this, I'm still watching to see if Xiaomi will release a PHEV version.
