The credit card sounds like a Government Problem. Maybe they should have gone over the car before they sent it to the auction.

It sounds like the GM is a total clown. To come at you thinking he had the story, when in fact he was wrong in ever aspect is laughable. I wouldn’t do business with them anymore, at least as long as that guy runs the joint

They are responsible for correct and maintained signage and for up to date and correct information for the customers! The GM proved he was not up to the job!

Based on the details you shared they owe you an apology. If they had the wrong signage posted, fail to fulfill their obligations with their clients and/or fail to control access appropriately those things are not your fault…it sounds like the content you captured exposed them and caused them grief and rather than own that they elected to take it out on yourself. I doubt they will reverse their decision…(they should)…also sounds like their initial interactions with yourself were based on erroneous assumptions and facts and they came off unprofessional and heavy handed. You apologized and sympathies with them…but you did not do anything wrong or malicious. It’s unfortunate that you will loose out on content and revenue because they have issues. If in hindsight they can’t see that they made a mistake then that’s a negative reflection on them and they should take a look at the GM and how he’s running the location as I’m sure there are other issues.

We check everyone's credentials when they come in. We have posted limits and we do put stickers on the cars that you can not drive or they are in a location that is posted. That auction house owes you an apology, and they are running things messed up.

This is what happens when you give a minimum wage worker a little bit of authority. The general manager is nothing more than a warm body who counts cars. He is incompetent and should be fired for not knowing company rules and how his own lot is run.

Basically they're running a "good ol boy" style auction, got caught, got their asses chewed, and blamed you. Here in Texas, the car auctions are strict, they funnel you in to verify who you are, then make you walk past security to verify that you have a badge. If the cars aren't supposed to be driven, they're locked and the keys are in the office.

I think it shows too the incompetence of our federal government...leaving a valid credit card in a surplus vehicle? They are the ones that should face the consequences!

One thing I’ll say randy is that no matter what I’ll keep watching the Copart walk around a or whatsoever you do I like your attitude and the education you bring a 21 year old kid like myself making smarter decisions with my money and investments into cars.

Acv should go there and clean house and straighten everything out, and tighten security. They should hire you as a pr consultant to show case their cars.

Maybe the problem was that someone after you stole the credit card and used it. The manager got his ass chewed and took it out on you. Insurance purposes is a BS excuse often used when they don’t have a legitimate reason.

Hi Randy, based on what you told us, it feels like they were waiting to ambush you because they got reprimanded by the government. Their mistake probably almost costed them a contract to sell GSA cars. That potential loss of revenue is probably why the GM was angry. Anyway, you are correct, you're not really at fault and their policies or lack there of is the real issue here. If they have vehicles GSA or not that shouldn't be driven, then why leave the keys in the cars. They should be in a locked box somewhere.

I suspect you’re right Randy, about the gov card. 16 year gov employee here who’s had to deal with GSA vehicles, those cards are for gas and maintenance, and are typically tightly controlled. I was shocked to see one left with the vehicle! One thing I did learn in my 16 years.. you mess up uncle Sam’s wallet, you’re toast. Hours of training to even touch a gov pay card. (Using you’re as a general term here) You’ll get it all sorted out!

I think this incident casts certainly a bad light on Dealers Auto Auction.... i think they should be working with You to improve their operation and reputation as a auto business entity.

Sorry to hear what you went through. You should try to find another auto auction near you and film there. Furthermore, I would cancel you license from that place and demand some kind of refund and let them know you will not be buying anymore cars there anymore.

Get an attorney...sue them for loss of income, false accusations, emotional distress, etc... it is clearly their mistakes, they got in trouble with their higher-ups, and restricted you, from your contractual agreement with them, they broke their own contract they have with you, who was legally allowed to be there...put their feet to the fire! Oh, stop saying you are sorry, you did nothing wrong!

So sorry to hear this, you introduced us all to this auction, that I personally had never been to or made purchases from, but with that said, we started dealing with them and have had a good experience through our business, now we will consider how they are running and dealing with there customers... You are not the only one, we have heard a few negative stories... Hope it doesn't continue, it will hurt them in the long run... Don't let this detail in life ruin your good vibe. I used to work for the government and it was highly stressed to take care of the gas card and misuse was a federal felony. Where i am from they used to have GSA auctions open to the public and anyone could buy and drive the vehicle.

As a Bostonian (who left that liberal cesspool 20 years ago to join the military and NEVER moved back) who grew up in the city itself I’m not one of these people who claim Boston is my home but I live 40 miles from it. It was less than 5 miles from my house to Fenway PAHK. Anyways without going too too long here, I’m a nearly 40 year old disabled combat veteran, I am 5’6 so I’m obviously quite short and back during K-12 I fought AT LEAST twice a week every week during the school year without fail. Thankfully I haven’t had a fight since around 2010-2011. At least now being 5’6 178lbs there’s a little (not much lol). I just appreciated you not just letting it happen like so many people do today!

Randy.......I ran into a similar situation at the Phoenix IAA yard, although it did not involve video, it was just more heavy-handed, mostly irrational behavior that demeans a paying customer. Think first that IAA charges $200/year for membership. When you visit the yard, that should mean something. In the case of my local IAA, it is a long drive, it is in an area where you would not want to have car problems and when I have been there, my car is one of the only ones with American plates......most are from Mexico. The first time I went there, I took a jump starter and the guard said absolutely no admission to the yard with the jump starter. (although the car I was looking at was non-running and it was going to be expensive) But, it didn't end there. The guy told me that I am not allowed to even start a car.......it is against the rules. So, I'm looking at cars in the 20-30k range, a very big investment, and I can't even check if the car runs? Then after returning the jump box to my car in the parking lot, I come back and the guy wands me and tells me I have to leave my only key fob with him. I reluctantly hand that over and then he wands me again, and tells me I have to give him any keys, including my only keys to my house. If not, I cannot enter the yard, after an hour drive. Then, I have to walk a long ways to find the car on a 109-degree morning, and the seat is stuck in the far forward position, so I can't even sit in it. A second trip was no better. I noticed many of the out of country folks were waved right on through. Not a customer-friendly environment and a very arrogant approach to take when running a business. You did nothing wrong and I think the yard is shooting themselves in the foot. Good luck with the GM. By the way, I thought your Walmart analogy was funny. In the past week, I have seen three people take entire cart-loads of stolen items out the door and security just let them walk away. Hope you find an alternative revenue source.

You do their speed limit always. You have always kept personal information out of Camera. You always park the cars where u picked them, just to make their jobs easier. You never hide or run away from your mistakes in the yard, you report them and even offer solution (both in copart and dealers and everywhere). You follow every rule, everywhere. Just had an idea as you were ending this video, what about filming cars that are on the back lots of dealerships in your area? So the cars they will take to the auction due to damage or high miles, you can do a "before they go to auction" review. Maybe you end up buying some? Anyway, i hope this gets figured out.

Randy the head guy you talked to doesn't sound like a very good manager. HE wants to be a big shot but doesn't know what he is of really doing in his job position. They need a new manager and set up a set of rules to be followed. Randy you did everything right the manager guy doesn't know his job.

Definitely disappointing and could of been kept behind closed doors rather then trying to use you as collateral, High key pisses me off even though I’m not in your situation, especially when u gave a rough estimate on lost income at the end, I feel for you on this one, If there’s is another DAA that’s a little bit further away you could always give them a try since their store management is different, still seems odd that you got thrown under the bus even though you have purchase history on your daa account. 2024 is right around the corner though so there is so much to look forward too you gotta just keep your head up.

First off another great video bro. And honestly, based on everything that you said you did not do anything wrong. When you do things regularly, there are certain things that you don't always have on you. So it's understandable that when they ask you for certain things, although you have it, you may not be easily able to give it to them. They should understand that. Rules and regulations stated. If you don't clearly state the rules and regulations for your auction yard, then you really can't get anybody in trouble. And again, it's their fault again for not clearly posting accurate information. As for the filming part, you're completely right about that. They reserved the right to tell you that you not allowed to film there. Keep up the great work bro. Have a good one and I'll catch you on the next one. When that GM finds out how many subscribers and views your videos get I suspect he will realize he F’d up and ask you to come back.

Respect to this video that was clearly recorded with some in the middle of processing how to respond to a clear wrong doing on their part that most likely is a consequence of a management change with new ownership. It's on their end if they plan to maintain this ban or end it. But I totally understand if the general manager ever changes their mind, Randy doesn't take their offer with whatever restrictions they demand.
