Replacing the carpet would make the van feel (and smell) new again. You could use the old carpet as a template and put any kind of carpet you want back in it. It’d make for a great video.

Randy, the doors are locking because that van probably was used at a retirement center. It's a safety feature. There should be a box under near the fuse box.

Good job Randy! Damn! What a nightmare that was removing that wheelchair lift! It had to go. That van will be a great road trip vehicle for your family. It just needs those Captain's chairs, and some of Brian's magic, and you are all set. I like it!

Besides an $8 trim tool kit, Home Depot/Ridgid has an awesome shop vac attachment kit with 1.25" hose & attachments, makes getting into tight areas a breeze on your vehicles... add glass guy to your resume

You need to invest in a body trim removal tool kit. They have them at harbor freight or your favorite parts store

I used to do these van conversions and what you need are universal pedestals. Any van with seats in the back will have them. Just use standard hardware to install them. Look up the seat manufacturer and see if they are still around

Wow it was such a fun watch - really thought it would fall on you ! Replace the carpet with an offcut from a flooring shop go heavy duty low pile prob cost no more than $100

Randy, they use standard home carpeting for the interior. The issue will be doing the upholstery work on the side that you will need a stapler and some spray on adhesive. Should be good content for views to replace it

A little trick I do with my shop-vac to get into tight spaces is grab a few feet of heater hose, hold one end onto the shop-vac hose and the other to get into the tight space. I blow out the heater hose with shop air afterward and keep it for reuse. Oh, and windows are always a joy. LOL

Randy, you might try contacting Flexsteel RV Furniture regarding finding captains chairs for your Conversion Van -- they were often the OEM suppliers of the captains chairs and sofa beds.

The doors locking when the door is opened and closed is likely a wiring issue where they pass through the front edge of the door.

Most wheelchair ramps have an isolation switch near the unit or on the dash …it’s a safety feature .

Randy, you could get captain chairs out of a mini van and install them. Also, a center bench out of mini van would fit. They should be cheap from a salvage yard.

Just get some carpet from Ollies for carpet and its very resonable - or go to a local floor covering shop - they have remnants - easy to re-carpet - nice van - Thx for sharing

Randy, Regency RV filed bankruptcy in October. If you want to shell out some cash, there are plenty of great seats on the internet. Or, you can pull some out of a salvage yard vehicle and have them reupholstered. That carpet is shot and needs replacement. Thanks for a great video!

Try a lube/wd40 on the black window track. It will help the window up and down friction

My conversion van as a rotator switch near the steering wheel that allows me to choose an audio source.. I can split the system where the front speakers play the dash and the rear plays the rear stereo… I can do all front… and I can do tv video on the rear as well. Maybe you have a switch somewhere upfront that controls your audio source..

Regarding the captains chairs, I had a similar problem & (eventually) got results with a WTB ad on Craigslist. A guy was parting out another conversion van & the fabric was a perfect match.

Randy Most GM vans,tahoes, suburbans have a standard floor,do what you need to lift up the carpet and look for the mounting floor seat bolt holes or whatever they are called. The carpet and padding covers them up , then you would have to cut the the carpet around those mountings and install the required surround plates . They are designed for quick removal. 98% of front door side glass goes in from the outside front side down with the regulator all the way down. I haven't got to that point yet, but im hoping you were able to figure that out.

Well, you sorta figured it out. You realized the door "Sills" had to be removed. It could bind because there's still glass in the track somewhere, but that's usually pretty apparent. It's likely binding because you have the track misaligned somewhere. Usually a couple of heat cycles will cause the track to settle back where it belongs. Tip for you, sometimes it makes it easier to loosen one of the tracks. When I was a "professional" glass installer my go to was usually to remove the sills and loosen the rear track.

Really a nice looking van! I love the GMC grill! I'd take all of the carpet out and buy some nice commercial grade carpet, take the seats out and install new. It would smell better too!

I also got my headlights cleaned and buffed at Wal-Mart but it was a guy doing it in the parking lot. It worked well.
