i agree with you, his mistakes we all can see, if he can clean that up, i think he shoots way better, prob alot of nerves, but his putting wasnt bad at all , not sure how many drives he hit fairway on but if he cleans that up too he might give himeself better opportunitys in fariways and other chips be solid.

Some legit constructive feedback in this comment section but waaaay too many toxic vibes, wow wtf is this fanbase. Micah seems grateful for the learning oppo and doesn’t seem deluded at all about his performance or position, thanked his team, and moved on. Some very avoidable mistakes and hopefully strong mindset prevails, interested to see what happens next

Much of the fan base is here for the train wreck, and they’re not disappointed with every upload. Between going knuckle deep for boogers and coming in dead arse last in a tourney- then calling it a ‘dub’- this little guy never disappoints

this isn't it...the hatred comes from his practice round when he said 'there's lots of birdies to be made out there' and the fact he calls this a pga tour event...he finished dead last in a pga tour CANADA event...that's the difference

Honestly I’m glad you are documenting all this and posting the good the bad and the ugly. Golf isn’t easy. People on the internet act like it is. We all know the work you put in and the Man you are. Getting a sponsors exemption to begin with is an accomplishment and competing and grinding thru the 2 rounds like you did is admirable. Enjoyed the vids Micah solid effort for your first PGA sanctioned event a couple of bad wholes in the 1st rd and some really close putts in the second for bird that were just short. Hoping you get some more opportunities like this certainly brought some more eyes on the PGA tour of Canada

Tons of experience. That's what you take from this. Great showing of mental capacity despite the scoring not going your way. I'm convinced that if you get that D-stick more straight and find the fairway more often, you easily walk this course E or better - so scorable. Looking forward to the next one!

Caddie spent a lot of time making sure Micah couldn’t gain confidence on his own…. No need for him to justify his spots and shots to the caddie…. counter productive…

This is a problem in the game for sure. I volunteered at the 2023 United States Women’s Amateur Fourball at my home club and saw a caddy tell a player that they were lined up wrong on a putt while they were over the ball. The caddy reprimanded the player for thinking it moved from left to right and told her to play it right to left. Well, the player was right. I have never seen someone be so angry in my life afterwards. Sometimes the player has to just do what they feel is right and live with the consequences.

I think people watch scrambles and the interactions of teammates about a putt. They say where they are aiming, then the teammates can watch if it hit the spot, the speed, the break, the result, and then adjust. That probably isn't how a caddy should look at it. On a longer putt the "spot" is dependent on the speed. How can a caddy dispute my spot if he doesn't know my intended speed?

If you read comments in the recent Bryan Brothers qualifier video you’ll notice nearly zero critical comments. I think the issue with Micah is that many viewers feel he has not earned the access to playing in these types of tournaments, whereas George (and Wesley) were competitors in a qualifier to play in a PGA tourney by earning the spot, not because of their YT followers or influencer status.

I fully recognise this represented a nice opportunity to experience a professional tour event and must have been a buzz to compete in. The tournament host benefited from the media exposure bringing eyes to the tournament so all positives there. The reality is however, Micah is a very decent amateur player of around scratch handicap imho. The guys competing even at this level would be equivalent to between +3 - +6 range and in most cases, would have come through high level college systems or played extensively at premier amateur events before turning pro. The perception of Tig’s playing level versus the reality of what’s required however, is clearly highlighted in this vlog. Personally I believe Micah would do better to compete in far more local events either at club or mini tour level for at least 6 months to gain experience of what’s really needed to progress. The chasm in all round ability between his game and the likes of The Bryan Bros, is vast. But their level should be where Tig needs to be benchmarking if he sees a future on any decent level of pro tour. I hope he gets there….but there is a lot to learn first.

@@donjoe7387 He's a scratch...but the reality is in a lot of the videos that aren't official tournaments, they're playing from 6300 yards like you or I would play from, not 7000+. And there's a huge huge difference in being a scratch at your local club and being a scratch at 7000+ while playing tournament golf.

@@MaS-cp5ru He's just evidence his KZfaq golf play, as expected, was fraudulent. There ain't no re-hits when you're competing against people who are actually good at the game. Guy will never humble himself so the cut line and course will do it for him. He even released a "I'm getting fit for new clubs!" video to promote TM's garbage, after refusing to listen to Trottie who has fit more talented players that would absolutely annihilate him in stroke AND match play. TM sponsored him because he hits the ball far, which is used to promote their crappy defective Stealth drivers. Waste versus anyone else who was actually worthy of it.

It seems like they decided or it became Austin will be the thinker, and Tig will be the doer. Now I think they need to decide if that was the best way or not. I forget who it was in the Lpga at Pebble Beach. I was half watching for a little bit and the caddie was flat out telling the golfer everything. Hit this club, this far, flighted a bit, five yard draw, etc. She was just the golf robot.

Just to play devils advocate, since Micah isn’t a seasoned tour pro he may need more coaching or just keep him talking and locked into every shot. I may be way off but I can see the good and the bad in the method of his caddy.

I’ve learned just from being a weekend warrior golfer sometimes playing a 3 wood or high iron off the tee to give better positioning is how you score. Also playing to the 150 marker can work wonders as well. Keep up the good work love watching your content

But he doesn't do that. Too often he's gearing down to a 2-iron...AND STILL NOT HITTING FAIRWAY. If you're not even going to find the short grass at least get closer to the pin. Real pros aren't afraid of their driver and take long iron or fairway wood off the tee for very specific reasons.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees Micah as trying his best to seem more than he really is. Point is he's a Pro-Am at best. No way anyone is gonna finish dead last in a PGA Canada tournament and still say he's a pro! It isn't even a main PGA event!

Something tells me needing to justify every shot and lie to someone else creates self doubt. Needing the validation for 140+ shots cannot simulate autonomy. I understand when a caddy really feels "you're making the wrong choice" or when the golfer really thinks "I'm a bit confused here" but holy fuck the handholding here is infantile.

Saying no fear before a shot is pretty shocking too. I don't want to hear the word fear when I'm about to swing. In the practice round sure, don't miss short, don't go right. But during actual play, I want to know the distance to the front edge, to the pin, how much room behind the pin. If I forget and need more information I will ask. I suck at golf, but that's how I feel about it.

I think a lot of these guys, could be really good golfers if they would relax on how hard they swing. Micah hitting 350 isn’t worth a shitty lie. Hit 310-320 and be consistent with it instead of swinging out of your shoes. A lot of these guys are getting in their own way by ego golfing

@kylezahner, I agree 100%. Some things they do for videos, or to get likes and subscribers, don't translate AT ALL to pursuing professional golf. Swinging so hard, as you pointed out, and regularly missing fairways, is NOT going to achieve the goal. Well said sir.

Competition is hard. I only play 9 holes - work leagues.. I’ve had rounds where I found a green side bunker almost every hole. To last week - my best round ever at 3 over. Keep grinding. Birdies (pars for me) will come.

Caddie is the star of this one. Note how the caddie shifted his voice a bit middle of the round to match micah's pace/tone/volume. I'd appreciate that in early part of a round w/ my sports bg, but caddie realized that wasn't working for his guy. Mirroring is what we'd call it, loosely/without context. Great job.
