CLARIFICATION/UPDATE: the twitter page that I had an exchange with that I show screenshots of in this video is NOT the official movie's twitter account. they run a fan twitter page for the movie and they are NOT associated with Lionsgate. they unblocked me and followed me on twitter and have sent me a DM explaining this. PLEASE do not send them any negativity or hate on my behalf, they have every right to run a fan account and defend a movie they love. HOWEVER, Lionsgate and Lasso Entertainment still attempted everything they could to censor and silence my original negative review of the movie, therefore my message in the video still stands. censoring negative criticism doesn't make your movie better!

It was a trashy classless movie, not surprising that the people behind it would act trashy as well.

As someone who has been abused by false copyright claims by movie companies, I think you should have filed a dispute. They don't have the power to take down your channel. When you file a dispute they can either accept or reject it. If they reject it, you won't get a strike, and you can do an appeal. They probably won't reject the appeal, but if they do, you'll get the option of letting them claim it, or taking the video down. If it goes down (and this has only happened to me once), you can file a counter-notification. They will have to sue you in court to keep the video down. This has only been attempted twice in all of KZfaq, and the defendant won both times. If you let them continue to claim that video, you're encouraging this kind of behavior by the studios. I say fight it.

I noticed that some very large movie reviewers on KZfaq have stopped doing negative reviews, or do them far less, as they are almost immediately copyright claimed. It's very annoying to not be able to get real reviews because these large companies swoop in and claim everything.

I really hope this gets picked up. The demonetization stuff has definitely been a topic for journalists, and you would think a company as big as lionsgate going out of their way to censor people who don’t like a movie, and then have the nerve to be so glib about it, would be a bad look.

I heard that movie has problems with a couple of reviewers. They also blocked another movie review, where they were only mentioned in comparison. How petty 😂 Especially considering how disrespectful they were to the victims & their families.

The same thing happened to The AtZShow on his Extremely Wicked video because he talked about The Haunting of Sharon Tate for like a minute. They copyright claimed him manually. THOST wasn't even on the tags or in the title... wtf?!

I totally agree that YT needs to change their dispute policy. It seems like it's not terribly often that creators file a dispute, for fear of getting a strike on their channel. So it shouldn't be that much money to hire someone to manually check these disputes and make an educated ruling on any copyright claims. That said, YT is VERY much a lap dog to these larger companies, so I'm not convinced that if they did that, they would actually be fair in their assessments of these types of situations where the video CLEARLY falls under fair use. Fair use is NOT a difficult concept to understand. Good for you for sticking up for yourself and pointing out these issues that many KZfaqrs deal with.

I agree entirely with your viewpoint on this movie. I actually got into a Facebook fight with Rob Zombie a couple years back when he announced he was planning his own Manson project. Knowing his style, I had no doubt he would attempt to glorify Manson, similar in style to The Devil's Rejects, and I called him out on it. To be clear, I actually don't mind that approach when the killers and victims in question are fictional. I'm a horror fan after all. I love The Devil's Rejects and the Hannibal Lecter franchise is one of my faves. But when it comes to real life serial killers and mass murderers, not only do I not think they should be glorified in movies and TV, I don't think we should know their names at all. I think we should learn about their crimes so that people are aware of the dangers and maybe learn something constructive from their behavior. But I don't think their names and faces should ever be released publicly. The entire reason people do things like this is that they feel inadequate and are looking for some way to feel special and important, even if that's by being infamous. It's pathetic. When the media turns these people into household names, we as a society are sending the message to these sickos that what they're doing works. Just kill a bunch of people and we'll turn you into a movie star. That's the message we're sending, and by doing so, we become part of the problem.

Recently found your channel and its actually hard for me to find good suggestive youtubers who cover horror in general. I don't have the common horror pallette I guess, and I take them too seriously, so I don't like a vast majority of whats released post 2005 but... I love your suggestions, your reviews, even if I dislike a movie or disagree I agree with the technical aspects and you're great at what you do. Its hilarious to me that they think banning your video is helping them in any way shape or form because I saw that video just before being suggested this one and indeed I said 'well I need to know how had it is myself' because I do love REALLY bad horror. Black Sheep remains one of my favorite movies. Man eating sheep in a horror setting not sci fi. Yes please. Its terrible. Its possibly the worst. I love every minute of it. But after hearing all of this its like... okay so not only is the movie terrible, you disrespected the dead and their living relatives, BUT NOW YOUR BLOCKING KZfaqRS WHO SAY ITS BAD. Come on now... that's just terrible business sense one of the driving factors of success in horror is either hype that its great or hype that its terrible. No one sees mediocre horror. WE ALL want to see the best and the worst because the worst can still be enjoyable just not in the intended way. Could have had that much more money from people watching it to see it was really that bad. Guess I'll never know cause I don't respect a company that goes that far out of the way to shut down anyone that disagrees with their point of view.

Whilst it is concerning that there has been a trend lately in the amount of true crime serial killer films produced, a lot of films about Sharon Tate’s murder are coming out this year since it is the 50th anniversary of her death - just thought I’d let you know as that’s probably why so many films about her murder in particular are being produced. Of course, Tarantino’s film is out this year but there’s also a film with Kate Bosworth and Matt Smith coming out soon about her murder called ‘Tate’ x

In my opinion I think directors should talk to the living victims/living family members of the victims and get their blessing. It’s just good ethics in my opinion to talk it through with the people affected by these crimes.

i bought this movie on blu ray and in my opinion i didn’t find it too terrible, but I definitely do agree with you, the company who created this movie are very unprofessional. It’s truly sad that the company that made this movie can’t handle a little constructive criticism. Although I personally did find this movie entertaining, i think they could have made it in more of an empathetic way.

As for Lionsgate trying to censor you, sadly, this happens all too frequently, beyond just the KZfaq community. A little bit of a different situation, but Disney recently tried banning the LA Times from attending any future Disney press screenings because they had the audacity to give Disney less than stellar coverage in one of their articles. Which, for most of these outlets, not being able to attend early Disney press screenings would be a massive blow to their core business. This was Disney basically saying "Give us favorable coverage or we'll do everything in our power to sink you." It was gross. Thankfully they were publicly busted for it and forced to remove their ban on the LA Times. But I can't help but shudder to think of all the other times Disney or other major studios got away with trying to bully a less formidable outlet and continue to get away with it even now. Makes you think twice when you read or see a review of a major release by a critic that isn't completely independent like yourself.

I have seen this happen to other youtubers who have reviewed other movies and didnt like them. The company would manually strike their channel and claim the video. So youtubers are scared to post their true opinions and now make positive reviews for everything they review which SUCKS!

Honestly before I saw your review I was so hyped for that movie but I'm glad I saw your review beforehand because I'm really not into the supporting film makers who think their shock value is more important that respecting real victims, and without you talking about those issues I would've wound up supporting the film which is why I think it's really important for people with platforms to talk about all issues like this and them throwing a hissy fit over your video shows that they know what they did was disrespectful but can't stand people pointing it out, also not to be that person, but hi from Northern Ireland!

I've been watching this channel for a while and it's a really good one :) I'm always entertained, i try and see the movie before hand so me viewing it wont be blurred by someone else's opinion but still great work! This came up in my news feed and I thought it was a new video lol. I was going to say it sounds like this company is a broke nobody company to go to such lengths over an opinion. They look like they're worried about losing the few little viewers they would've had. But you made a good point about bringing the film publicity eventhough it was negative sparked the interest of others so they had nothing to worry about. You did them a favor as likely had you not said anything in your reviews about it likely not many would have seen it. I watch horror films all the time and heard of many but never heard of that film.
