My over aggressive nature made this boss a nightmare for me. Natural habit of trying to end the fight fast when I should have been taking my time and learning a rhythm. Dash nail helps big here.

It took me 3-4 hours to beat this boss, because this was only my 3rd metroidvania. But once I figured it out, I found it so much fun that it became my favorite.

The watcher knights are negatively affecting my mental health

i broke my vocal cords fighting that boss and i still havent got him… *its been 2 days*

I honestly think this is the hardest boss of all the required bosses

There's a solution for every problem in this game, and for all of them is to follow Hornet's famous two words quote: "GIT GUD"

I also don't really like these guys, they lack what makes mantis Lords and nail masters a great gank boss and that is synchronization, watcher knights dont have a specific pattern and each has his own ai to attack you, they also blend together quite a bit which makes it hard to tell which one is gonna attack They aren't that hard especially if you have upgraded nail and mark of pride and quick slash but I can't deny that they are really frustrating to fight especially on radiant difficulty, they are one of the most frustrating bosses along side markoth, oblobles and absrad

This was the boss which made me realize I wasn't upgrading my nail 😂

The watcher knights are a cool boss to fight because they really make you pay attention to the fight, because of them I’ve improved on multitasking (fr) lol

They are the ONLY reason why i don't speedrun hollow knight

Yesterday I fought these guys on steel soul mode while I was rlly underpowered for the fight Surprisingly beat them with my hp getting down to 2 masks at most, I guess fighting every boss on radiant before doing steel soul paid off Did better on watchers than I did dealing with a single big boi guard, got me down to 1 mask and almost died prior to watcher knights 💀

Beating them was hard first, but then i realised that this fight requires patience instead of intensity and beaten them slowly

Honestly I feel that pain. Took an hour plus, two almost mental breakdowns and prayer to beat these guys. But I'm ngl while I was suffering I enjoyed the fight nonetheless. One of the reasons I really enjoy hollow knight is that challenge it gives you and that feeling of victory you get from beating said challenge (Ik this is applicable to most games but ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯)

Baldur Shell + Quick Focus + Stalwart Shell + Quick Slash charms, Helped me defeat this terrible bosses, I just spammed the attack button on them at the safest times to do so, and Baldur Shell Helped A lot in these fights

I feel your pain, i cant get the speedrun 2 achievement because of this

It was super difficult at first, but then I found a vid of some guy litteraly TANKING the attacks and spamming spells, it actually was the only tactic that worked.

I honestly think I spent more time beating these bosses then I did with pure vessel and path of pain

I didn't know you could get shade cloak before fighting them and had to fight without it which made it way more annoying

Crazy how different people struggle with different bosses. I beat watcher knights first try, but struggled with dung defender for example

I'm currently stuck at ths boss though I came close to beating them twice and lost both times due to foolish mistakes. I'm just going to go beat Hornet and the 2nd coliseum trial in Kingdom's Edge then come back.

Reminds me of Abyss Watchers from Dark Souls 3

If you spam d dark on one or two of them you can just win immediatly, recommend using the dream nail charm

I got the two other dreamers all abysel spell shade cloak upgraded my nail to spiral got more charm notches and charms yet still can’t win

During my sub 5 hour speed run this boss nearly ruined the whole run since we killed each other at the same time. I was worried my kill wouldn't count and my run would be sunk, luckily they stayed dead.

The boss was hard so i decided to do something else ended up upgrading all my spells when I came back with fluke nest best decision I made that entire game

before I went to beat Grimm for the first time to improve the amulet and have more damage asdfghjkl, I hated these guys

I was speedrunning Hollow Knight and I was getting discouraged cause of Watcher Knights , I had already detoured to upgrade my nail and it so far hadn't helped . I was talking to a friend about it and decided to log on while I was talking to him Beat Watcher Knights first try after I got on while I was talking to him and proceeded to get Monomon and Herrah within the next hour and beat THK at 4h 30min ☠️

Watcher Knights drain my soul so much when it comes to The Pantheon

I decided to try and do my newest run with no bench no charm no double jump and I’m still stuck on these guys after idk even know how long

It took me 20 deaths to realise that I can down attack them and then stomp. After that, I defeated them lesser than a minute

I actually beat these guys first try by using a spell-only build, due to how good descending Dark and shade soul is in this fight

I would suggest getting shade Soul and charman Stone (maybe spell Twister, too), i did it while trying to get the speedrun 2 achivment. (My final time was around 3h and 40min)

My build for this fight was mark of pride, grubsong and steady body.

I'm on my first playthrough and beat the watcher knights WITHOUT KNOWING THAT I CAN REMOVE ONE?????!!

It actually dosent matter what order you do the dreamers in you could do herrah first if you really wanted to

You can do it in 2 mins with flukenest + shaman stone + spell twister. One of the easiest bosses after nosk in my opinion. If not for their number they would be as easy as the big red guards in the east part of city of tears

I spent 2 days on this fight (this is only my first metroidvania) I eventually ragequitted and continued the game normally. My advice is just make sure you get all the upgrades before hand, once I did that it only took me like 4 or 5 tries

This boss is the main reason it took me 24 hours to beat the game for the first time. Still shudder every time I have to fight them

I spent all last knight fighting this guy's. I hate when games make hard bosses but instead of 1 complex with different attacks is just 6 of the same tank shits with only 3 moves

As someone who spent all my time upgrading everything before going after the dreamers, watcher knights are fuckin stupid.

Bruh fr this boss took me like over an hour and even the hollow night was easier

I suggested to use sharp shadow against this boss along with quick slash for continuous damage. Quick focus is also good because these guys can output damage to you very quickly. I would also suggest using either soul catcher for soul gain to use spells more or using long nail/mark of pride for longer range

Best way to beat them is to not upgrade your nail, because their Hp scales with your nail damage. Best way to damage them is to use decelent dive.

Imo those bastards are worse than the path of pain and radiance combined. Their attacks can cover all of your options leaving you screwed. There’s another fight which I think does the multiple bosses significantly better. Well the mantis lords, and a spoiler fight. In these fights the multiple enemies attacks are staggered so you can move around them. With the watchers you’ll be trying to evade one of them, while the other bounces from off screen and bodies you

I am not very good at Hollow Knight, by that I mean I died to Gruz Mother, Vengefly King and basically every boss in the game multiple times. But this boss was one of the easiest for me. It took me about 3 or 4 tries. Just Shaman Stone d-dark them 3-5 times (maybe six i dont know the damage).

I find the fight more difficult when you drop the chandelier

one of the worst parts of the game is that you don't start at the bossfight when you die. this is sooooooo annoying, why do games like the metroid games and so many others do this thqt you respawn at your last save, ori made it so comfortable by saving every 2 seconds

Hiveblood was my savior on this fight.

One knight by itself is not hard, it's the fact that you have to fight 2 at a time and concerntrate on both of them that makes this fight suck.

if youre strugglng with watcher knights, just use shaman stone and flukenest, get a few hits on the knights and spam flukenest as hard as u can, they will DIE

So glad I'm not alone in this. It's one thing if a boss is hard, I just found this one annoying as hell. And not even that creative to boot I fought the lost kin right before, and didn't even beat it, and I still didn't like this one as much

Skill issue + no shade cloak

It's not hard at all. Spell is all you need to beat them. Grubsong + weaversong ( need shade of cloak )to boost your souls and spam spell. It's so fast and easy

there really not that bad once you learn their ai. Just try to always be on the opposite side of them at all times getting in hits when they roll across the stage

First of all: the knight (who you play as) has no gender, no feelings, no will, and is made of pure void. Second: maybe you should have upgraded the knight and maybe it wouldnt have taken 30 minutes of gameplay 😂😂😂
