They made an experiment years go. Some guys went into a cave and got into the cave for at least one month, can't remember the exact time. They had no watches so they were unable to know the time. There were no windows at all. However, they woke up and went to sleep at approximately the same time... but not the same time exactly. If our days have 24 hours, the natural day was a bit different, yet consistent. So there is a natural watch in us. And there's more. If your cortical activation is high enough (not to the point of being actually worried or anxious, just focused), you can actually wake up approximately to the right time you needed to wake up, meaning, your brain is measuring the time that is passing even if you don't notice. You know this results are consistent across the population but not 100% of the time. There are other variables. Some people have a very heavy sleep, they won't wake up no matter what. Other people go to sleep too late, so they won't wake up in time anyway because the brain needs more rest. Other people need less time to have a good rest so they will always wake up earlier. Other people drink a lot of coffee or coke so their sleep is messy and you never know if they will wake up sooner or later.

You will fall sleep but it will be for you like blinking. When waking up you won't remember falling slept or being slept, because you were TRULY unconscious, in that state the mind can't follow the pass of time. But when you wake up in the morning, in your day to day, you feel that the time has passed. Maybe you don't know why, but you can "feel" it.

@@tiramisumochi4787 Not actually they are digesting the proteins based on the parts of bamboo that they eat based on the time of year very well. Their poop is said to resemble predators with an all meat diet. Check out the PBS eons vid about pandas, to hear it from real scientists. So yes carnivores after all are designed to digest proteins which is very abundant meat while herbivores digest primarily glucose which is most abundant in plants, however pandas arent getting glucose they are getting proteins which do exist in plants just not as much which they compensate with by eating a ton of it. So their guts are actually doing the right job just the process is slightly different.

@@Toneill029 Pandas are basically walking a mile for a cup of water when they could drive a car said mile but bring a bucket to bring back more..They’re doing something harder than they should! They take all this time digesting and eating plants so much for so little instead of just eating an animal. It’s horrendously inefficient and they aren’t even the greatest at it either, they’re still basically carnivores eating plants but instead of plants they’re eating long poles of plants that are basically like chewing up a tree.

Kind of yes, it's a very abundant food source with no competition, but they're not actually built to eat the leaves, but were actually omnivorous to begin with, the leaves are like crack so they can't stop eating it, and it turns them off other food. But koalas are now so evolved into it they can't get out of it and now are complete herbivores. This can be seen through the incises they have. Or something like that, it's been a while

Without human intervention there wouldn't have been an issue in the first place, which is the one point you're missing. Also Koala's are not going extinct from natural causes, in fact on Kangaroo Island their levels became way too high and they were stripping too many trees and had to be moved. Koalas actually survive fairly well, Australia is not lacking on Eucalyptus trees and they breed very well.

Ehhh you could argue pandas are also in that family. Theyre literally unable to sex right most of the time. Their bodies arent even made to eat bamboo they are still made for meat and vetegables alike koalas. And they dont support to anything other than _maybe_ maintaining the bamboo population at bay but they dont even eat that much to keep a single bamboo from reproducing so a thousand time more.

Humans almost hunted Koalas to extinction in the early 1900s because of the fur trade and cleared a lot of their habitat. It's not a coincidence that koalas had existed just fine for millions of years until humans arrived.
