I’ve been stacking for about a decade now. Mostly silver….I stack/buy my silver through my own two ways. I scrap metal (aluminum, copper, brass and light….heavy metal). I kinda get into it and look around my local area for people placing items out by the curb. If I see the people near their house I ask ….is it OK for me to take this ….and sometimes I luck out and they say… “just a minute I got something else”. The second way I save up some money for silver is I have a metal detector and any basic change that I find I tumble it and clean it bring it to the bank and turn it into $20 bills that I convert that to my silver stack. >Wayne

Just a little over a year ago I was holding my very first 1 oz. silver Maple. And I thought, “damn, this is going to take forever...”. Well, I don’t have a lot, but I am up to approx. 170oz (among collecting gold, copper, and industrial metals for fun). Basically, what I am saying don’t get discouraged starting small. Just start, that’s what’s important. I’m 42 and wish I got into this game a long time ago.

I greatly appreciate you sharing your thoughts and strategy, it’s very much inline with mine. I’ve never sold my silver or gold and I have no intentions on ever selling if I don’t have to.

Guido Stacking is THE MAN, he is really the only person or place I buy from and has been that way for months now.

I'm stuck in that mindset that I need to save my fiat currency. Most of it comes from owning a business and needing liquidity. BUT that being said... I still make myself convert some to precious metals every month, sometimes a few times a month depending on the deal I'm getting. It helps me have the confidence that I have those hard assets but also have the liquidity that I need. It's really became a savings account for me and I love to save this way.

If you need to stay motivated and want to stay on the same theme you can always do the quarter guardhouse box. Quarters tend to be cheaper than half dollars at the moment anyway. Thanks for sharing highlights of your journey with us!

Yes the brain needs to be rewired from fiat madness. It takes a few years to get rid of the anxiety associated with changing dollars into silver. I am with you now its the opposite anxiety. I also have three boys! My oldest just said dollars bills can easily get blown away in the wind, while silver can't...lol Nice unintentional metaphor. He is only 7, but he has a personal stack a little over 7 oz.

I love that you finished your half dollar GH box - and so quickly! Looks like the half dollar boxes only hold 28 tubes at $10 each - $280 total face value. I've been working on a quarter box, but they are huge holding 50 (!!) tubes of $10 each - that is $500 face value - no wonder it is taking me so long to complete. My quarter box will hold a whopping 2000 coins with a melt value of $4 each (in Jan 2022 prices) that is a LOT of silver!!

Just getting into silver and gold in the UK. Ive been in the scrap metal industry for 15 years I have four kids and moneys always been tight so more silvervthan gold frustratingly as tax is so high on silver but I'm enjoying myself and get a buzz every time I get a good coin!

I remember when I was 18 and broke... my mother gave me about 250 quarters. I think most of them were silver, but I was very stupid. I took them to the coin machine and got about 45 bucks after the fee. 25 years later... I wonder what stupid things I am doing now that I will look back upon.

If you have amassed your (obviously Massive) Silver Collection, Then I would Personally Diversify into GOLD. I try to do a 50/50 blend. If I own say $X in silver, then I try to have the same cash value in gold. OR ANYTHING Outside of the dollar...artwork, rare comics, collectible cards, toys, guitars or rare vinyl records. ROCK ON! : )

I am 34 years old been wanting to invest in my future/retirement via purchasing physical silver for quite some time. Looked into it several times over the years but always bottled it. Finally bit the bullet early this month and got 2 x 1oz silver coins from the Royal Mint. I am now hooked I have now acquired 15oz in silver in less than a month. I am buying cool design coins/collections as opposed to eagles, brits, maples etc at the moment(I will get into those at some point for now I am just having fun). It may not be the most cost effective way to do it but I have always enjoyed collecting things so I want to make this fun so that I keep buying some every time I get paid. I don't really have an end game in mind I am just looking at it as an alternative method of saving, I still save fiat currency in a savings account and also crypto. I want to collect up a nice stash to help protect my wealth against inflation and also as a possible retirement it needed pot. I hope I never have to liquidate it and I earn enough that I can simply keep my stash pass it on one day to my children. These videos are great been watching loads and it has really encouraged me to want to collect more and convinced me I am doing something that will one day be beneficial to either me or my family. In my very very limited experience what I am trying to say is It's never too late to start, average it out each month when you get paid just buy what you can afford also save some fiat for quick access to cash funds in emergencies (The money I have left to save after my expenses I am splitting between fiat savings, crypto and silver) and lastly have fun with it that way you will be more likely to keep at it long term.

Now, unfortunately, in Europe the inflation is (at the official level) about 8% and silver not go up. To protect capital, it should grow at least 10%. How will you answer?

I feel the same way about converting my fiat into silver or gold...as soon as possible...I am more nervous about leaving it in the bank...plus like you I too have learned by stacking how worthless our fiat currency truly is and there's no way it's a good way of storing wealth period...it was designed to decline in value each year...unlike silver and gold the last 6000 plus years...just keep enough in the bank to cover the monthly bills and the rest goes into silver or gold...funny thing is...since I'd been stacking...I've saved more money than I ever have before and faster...it's just too funny...smiles

203 ish oz in that box, awsome, I have some constitutional but live overseas, I find quarters the hardest to come by.. mercury dimes Franklin halfs washy quarts are my favourite.

I still have some in my safe I bought 10 years ago that's not worth what I paid for it. I wouldn't hold my breath that it'll be worth much in the future looking at historical trends. The Morgan silver dollar was created in part because there was too much silver for supply/demand to make the return rate of mining viable in the territories. Going into a mine in Tombstone AZ made me understand that the metal isn't scarce or a good inflation hedge.

I stack silver much as you started to. I am very low income so I buy only one or two silver rounds every payday. Over the years though it has accumulated to quite a respectable stack considering the modest purchases. I have seen silver rise over the years overall and am quite pleased with my modest investment. I only wish I could afford to buy more.

I am set well with silver and have started gold. But I am worried that a recession induced by a rate hike may cause me to worry that I may need cash in the future.

maybe for your next challenge do a 10oz silver bar monster box the royal canadian mint makes the boxes just buy an empty monster box and try it out maybe!

I have a base that I like to have; a certain amount of 90%, gold, silver bars, and dollar bills that I never touch. Fiat's important in the short-term because it's still universal. Outside of that, cash is trash, and there's no need to hold on to it.

I have not sold any of my silver, Silver Dragons and I am holding on to it. 50% of my collection in silver is 1 oz numismatic coins and the other 50% are 1 oz silver bullion coins. In Canada, we don't have 90% silver, but 80% silver coins. Canadian coins 10 cents and higher before 1921 are 92.5% silver.

These 1/4 oz gold coins I got for over $500 each are smaller than expected. I could get a tube of 20 1oz silver coins for the same price. I am afraid the feel in my hand will have me addicted 😂

I would say land and property might be better than Precious metals, both have some good points though and it is good to hold both if possible . Silver is easier for most people to get at least some. The biggest risk in holding PM is if they are stolen

Silver Dragon, I've been presented with a company called 7K. You might know about it. It's like a pyramid silver company. I am not interested in joining their team, however, I am curious why they say the numismatic coins they buy and sell are worth so much. They pay a lot for each coin to start with, maybe $120 for one, but they claim the value increases quickly compared to other silver coins such as $15-$30 in value within a year. Is this true? What do you say about Numismatic coins? Are they worth the investment? When I see that the current silver rate is approx. $23, I find it hard to believe they are really making so much. Seems to me in the end it's a ripoff. Thank you for any comments and advice.

Maybe an apocalypse trade box ... ie A mix of different denominations of constitutional silver with $5 fv sections of $1 fv of different constitutional silver . Like 20 war nickels , 10 dimes , 4 quarters , 2 halves and a silver dollar in 20 sections of a box "to make an even $100fv " .

guardhouse boxes are too limited in capacity. use ammo cans with guardhouse tubes. one guy I know did this, showed me how a standard can will hold (and very neatly I might add) a large number of 90% coin, one denom per can.
