At her last concert on July 10th 2022, when Angelina told why she sings this song and dedicated it to her grandmother Mery Zamani, I understand this song completely differently. Whenever I hear the line "Don't you dare walk away from me" now, all I hear and see is Angelina, no matter who sings it. It's just an Angelina's song for me now. 💯 *AJ* 💯

This performance is beyond belief, the cinemaphotography, the ART, and this time we get to savor over 4 minutes of total bliss, no one is capable of doing this song justice like Angelina Jordan. David Foster and Linda Thompson, who co-wrote this ballad for Whitney Houston would be blown away by this performance.

Angelina sang this in the key of E. In the movie Bodyguard, Whitney dang this 1-1/2 steps higher in the key of G. But when Whitney sang the song live she sang it in key of F. The range of all performances covered about 2 octaves. So, Whitney did not sing higher in a few spots, but in a slightly higher key. Angelina sang this in a key best suited for her rich voice. Gorgeous from start to finish.

She changed the key to this song, but does it really matter as long as she has the ability to give each word, or phrase, meaning like no one else in this universe can. How can she evoke such emotion in each and every performance? Why do I get chills, or cry tears, or lose my breath when Angelina sing a song that I have experienced many times in the past without this happening? If this feeling only happened to me that would be ok, but it happens to billions of people. We play these videos of AJ over, and over again to get our high. I was a Whitney fan from the beginning of her career to her tragic end. Whitney was great, but Angelina at 16 is far better than Whitney ever was at making you feel each word, and phrase. AJ changes every cover to make if hers and far, far better than the original. AJ is the great STORYTELLING ARTEST I have ever experienced in my 75 years.

Thought I'd heard enough of this song, but I was wrong. Angelina beginning to own it.

Actually, Whitney was higher on Every Note, because Angelina lowered the key about 3 minor steps. Then except for a few embelishments, she kept the song pretty much the same. Angelina's version is right in her wheelhouse, so she had no problem with the high belting. But the lower range of the song is, for me, the best part. The way she adds that vocal fry at the beginning of the word "I" in each of those lines is Fantastic. I know I'm biased, but I prefer this performance by Angelina to any that I have heard, including the original. It's darker, richer, warmer, and has more variation (IMO). STUNNING!!!

She is singing it a few notes lower than Whitney and this suits her voice beautifully. It is true to the original but she also added things of her own of course: changes in tempo, a few words her and there (like the long ending sentence and note) and she put in a bunch of vocal fry parts like on the ‘walk’ of ‘don’t walk away from me’. If you listen to them back to back it becomes more apparent. And as you said, her voice is very rich and full, which Whitney’s voice (as a soprano) has a little less. In her latest concert on the 10th of July, Angelina sang this live. She dedicated the song to her absent and recovering grandmother who is a big influence on her and her career. This gives the song a very different, personal and emotional context. She switches between soft and gentle vs strong and with conviction to deliver this message and she makes me feel it :-) The video is gorgeous: the black and white gives me a nice throw back feeling to way back when. It is done by Cole McCarthy and he also worked with her on Easy on me and Suspicious Minds

The Empress of Jazz! I truly feel she is the best vocalist on any stage today hands down. We hear Angelina and not autotune. Any genre she tackles she seems to breeze through effortlesly. She grabs your heartsting and takes you on a journey with every song.

FYI: “I’m Every Woman” is a Chaka Khan song that Whitney covered. That’s why Whitney shouts out Chaka Khan at the end of her version.

There is no comparison to Angelina, she is special, but if you like this song Gabriel Henrique does this mean n Whitney's original key then adds a well placed whistle in the end! There is a rehearsal video for Jones 85th birthday celebration in London. Jones invited AJ to open his show. The concert music was overlayed the video to improve the sound. She also got to perform Dream a Little Dream of Me backstage for Jones. She was 12.

I concur with your assessment of Whitney Mike. I fully concede that musical taste is a very subjective issue but I'd equate Whitney's and Mariah's vocal theatrics (i.e. squawking/squealing) to two male cats having their tails tied together, set on fire and thrown over a clothes line - just an abysmal auditory abomination. Conversely, Angelina's voice is a vocally unparalleled, sonically pleasing gift from God. There are so many nuances of her voice that render me speechless, and at the end of her songs I often find myself reduced to muttering "my God, that was exquisite - such vocal mastery"
