I compare two golf irons in the players category, the new TaylorMade P7MC against the Titleist T100....both golf clubs having 34 degrees of loft, forged heads but one iron might have the edge over the other with some extra technology and help!

I moved out of the Taylormade PM7MC's and into Titleist T100s in June Michael. I never struggled with the longer irons in the PM7MC's but the T100s longer irons are way more forgiving and you're not giving up much in terms of feel and workability. The T series are a great iron range. I've got a T200 2 iron in the bag which is money.

The P7MC is such a gorgeous iron. I find it to be very forgiving and easy to hit. I feel it's more of a lower handicap iron and for a better ball striker. I played the T100 for a season, and I feel they are more of a mid handicap player who needs a bit more help getting the ball in the air.

I did the same as Chris, short stint with the Taylor made from my older Ap2s the sold them and went with the t100. More forgiving and better distance control.

The P7 MC compares to the Titliest 620 CB so your comparing two different iron classes the T100 has tec and ideally should be compared to the new P770.

The t150 compares to the p770. The t100 is between the Titleist 620 cb and t150. It doesn’t really have an exact direct comparison to tmag. Still the best players irons on the market for lower single digit to scratch+ golfers

I don’t think they are changing them. I heard they are offering them in all black. Too many tour pros are playing them and I doubt they will want to change irons and I’m sure Titleist doesn’t want their tour staff to play old irons.

@@colonelangus3826 I bought some T100s a month ago and I was thinking about waiting for a new version this summer but when the black ones came out it made me think they're going to wait a while to release a new version. I'm not sure how they're supposed to improve on this iron. They're an incredible option for a guy who's played blades his whole life and isn't quite swinging the club as fast anymore.

P770 is comparable to the t200 bot t100
@AndreeMarkefors
@AndreeMarkefors Жыл бұрын
@@Freeride_14 Not really. Both are hollow bodies, but the T200 is 31 deg for a 7-iron which is another two degrees stronger than P770. There is some overlap between different makers but T200 is more squarely in the lower spin + distance category, while the P770 is pretty unique with its forgiving traits while maintaining more traditional lofts. Still feels strong-lofted compared to my MP-32s though.

I saw more consistent striking with the TM. The Titty isn't solid forged if it has tungsten in it. And the pros like all the things you mentioned in the beginning of your vid and one other thing you forgot to mention. Feedback. Very important. The tungsten will take away from that very important feature that comes from a 100% solid forged finger ringing iron. It is better to know what you did wrong than to get away with it. I play Srixon CB's so I have no stake or bias. The ZX7's. Having come from Super GI to players GI then to these ZX7's, I can honestly say that having the feedback has made me a much better and consistent ball striker. It teaches you to hit the sweet spot. Being in love with the feel motivates me.

The Tours have spoken by making the more tech version, the T100 & T100s far more popular. I was honestly surprised by this release by Taylormade that they didn't bring back / update the 760 which was more like the T100&s with technology but still a player's club. The P7MC is a niche club, like the older Titleist CB - which almost no one plays and I believe Titleist is discontinuing (could be wrong). Mizuno's attempt is the 223 - but I still think the T100s wins here
@xxthadeucexx
@xxthadeucexx Жыл бұрын
I game the 223's and Mizuno got it right...and wrong. The T100 seems to have the same tech throughout the set while the 223 only employs it from 7i to 4i. Given the lofts, this creates a bit of a gap between the 7 and 8. I might be tempted to try the T100 for more consistency of gapping. Since I'm fairly certain no one commenting on these videos is a Tour Pro, I would agree that the little bit of help the T100 provides would be beneficial to all of us.
@MichaelNewtonGolf

Agree, the re release of 760 would have been a better option & then probably seeing more golfers move into it. MC is more niche.

How does the 770 compare to the T100? Thanks Michael.
@wallstreetoneil
@wallstreetoneil Жыл бұрын
@@xxthadeucexx The 223s are compared to the T100S - not the T100 - as the lofts are the same and the T100S has that speed slot entirely throughout the set. I owned the original year 2008 AP2s - had the speed slot but not tungsten in the corners but completely across the bottom - great clubs. In my opinion, the shrinking of the T100s & S is too much, the AP2 were slightly larger, and as such, there really is a hole in the lineup for better players, who basically want a T100S / 223, with consistent tech like the T100s, but also a tiny bit larger of a club head (like the 2008 AP2s) and a 7-iron loft of 32 degrees (this is really the sweet spot). That the 760 that Taylormade should have re-launched, not this P7mc, and also what the 223 should be - and I'd like to see a T100S+ (with that very slightly larger size). I'm the target market and I find them a tad too small.
@wallstreetoneil
@wallstreetoneil Жыл бұрын
@@paulmcgee1867 they don't compare at all - completely different category - hollow head with a springy hot face vs a solid forged face. With the exception of a HOT 4-iron, male, higher swing-speed Pros don't want hollow heads that give more distance but reduce spin because they desire consistency over everything. In the non-Pro world, those who lack consistency to begin with, generally also lack speed so hollow-headed clubs have exploded in popularity.

I am finally thinking about spending some money on my first set of new clubs for myself (I’ve only ever had hand me downs) my current set is a set of delicious AP2s that I love. Would genuinely stick with them until they all are flat but the bottom three grooves of several clubs (pw ,8,7) are basically nonexistent. Debating on getting a full set of new new or just replacing the ones I need and rocking with the rest of the AP2s that I can still use, but not sure if that would lead to inconsistent play and distances due to newer tech etc. Anyone have any thoughts or experiences that may help??

Which part is forged the club head or the face or is it like my Wilson staff tour blades the whole thing is one piece that's a real forged club. This should be called 'semi forged' face, head or whatever? Cannot be fully forged if it is hollow. Is that à fraudulent description? Only asking .
