Nice review Michael, but I wish you wouldn’t wear a nylon jacket … the mike picks up a scratchy sound. I’m playing the 923 Hot Metals … will have a look at the 925s … and might see if I can go back to the Hot Metal Pros (if they are forgiving enough) as I prefer the looks

I would assume bending the standard model 2 degrees weak would add offset, add bounce, it leave the head slightly more compact. Why not do that rather than go HL?

Currently playing JPX923 HM HL irons and loving them. Can't imagine the 925s are too much of an improvement over the 923s plus the looks have definitely gone south 😬.

I hit these today. They look good IMO. They were very forgiving and the ball flies off the face. I am not a great golfer. 7iron SS around 86. 200s carried 165ish. 300s over 170 easily. When I really tried I could hit the 300 over 180 carry. Best one I have hit recently.

Fit the shaft first then test the head performance, feel and look. Everyone’s acceptance shld be based on performance, feel, sound. Conjecture based on video and shots by fitters is almost meaningless unless you’re swinging/ hitting yourself.

Just got fitted into a GT2, mine is coming with the Denali Red but in the 60g 6.0 Stiff. We found with the HZRDUS black shaft I didn’t have control of the club head, I need to ‘feel’ the head more with a bigger perception of weight at the end of the shaft. The Tensei Blue was better, but spin was too high for my swing. We didn’t try the Tensei Black, as we settled into the Denali Red 60 g 6.0 in stiff as I was getting repeatedly good results with consistent spin.

From a design perspective these are the most un-Mizuno looking irons I've seen. No reason for me to upgrade to these when my JPX-921's look better and likely play/feel better. Chris Voshall will regret signing off on this when they are closing sets out for half the release price the end of next summer.

First thoughts were the high launch model, then I was thinking go with HMP and just bend them 2* week. Then after after seeing the data for all 3 models, specifically all of them seem to launch high I came to the conclusion which I know it’s where I should have started, and that is just get fitted.

Yes, go for the Apex AI 200's. I know. Wrong Michael, but those irons look sweet and I'm not a Callaway iron guy by any stretch of the imagination. They hit a home run there, whereas Mizuno launched a lame duck.

Like you I was surprised by the feel of the Ti Fusion when I hit it. Definitely one of the best feeling irons I can recall hitting. Awhile back I had some Mizuno Pro 225, and those were excellent feeling irons as well, and something I would say feels similar for someone considering the Ti Fusion, but not having hit them yet. I also think the Ti Fusion look and sound great. I immediately noticed the topline on the Fusions looked thinner than what I'd been hitting (Callaway original Paradym irons). The dark finish may have given part of the thinner impression. People ruling out the Ti Fusion because of price without trying them are doing themselves a disservice. I highly recommend trying them out side by side with whatever you are currently using, and the other Apex (if you're considering them).

The stats don’t really show what they should. The 300’s have the most spin ! They carry a little further but not much. I think stats are misleading, if a club is easy for you to hit use it. If you like the feel / look and can hit it… use it. Is the feel worth £1000 for Tungsten irons ? What are the shaft options…? Far more important difference between makes IMO.

I was thinking a Ti 4-iron with an aftermarket graphite shaft might make a good driving iron. But upward of £400 puts it nearly in the driver/FW price category. Ouch. Golf clubs are getting stupidly expensive.

A lot of people who couldn't think outside the box if you took the box away. If you struggle with a regular driver then give this a try. If it helps, great, then it's for you. If you really think you need something ever so slightly longer off the ground than your current 13 degree uber 3 wood that you can actually hit consistently well then maybe give this a try but given the extra face depth you'll probably struggle to do better. This is NOT the same as a low lofted 3 wood. The larger head and deeper face make it easier for average Joes to hit off a tee. So many of you are so self centered that you judge everything based off how you would use the club. It's not all about you. Some people will benefit. Most won't. That's part of the reason both Callaway and Taylor Made are making limited quantities of these. Shorter shafts tend to change delivery angles as well as club speed and depending on how much those change for someone they may do better with the 11.5 or the 13. It's not rocket science folks. If you really struggle to think of a place in the bag for this then you don't need it. Move along. I've made shorter versions of large headed 3 woods and smaller volume drivers for years for people and they love them. But they struggled with their driver. Now they have a tee club they can trust. This is just the factory option for that type of club. And if a few of you would shut up and give things a try you just might play better golf with a club like this.

EAGLE LINK GOLF. Thanks for the great review! Just got fit into the GT2 today. Was tempted to go with 45" in the shaft length and was told I could change it later. Play standard length in my irons. What made you decide to go a bit shorter? If I change my order, should I get a slightly heavier screw in the back to maintain swing weight?

Keeping my TSR3. Flat out not a fan of the sole of the GT series. Looks basic to me and the TSR looks much better imo. Also not a fan of the GT3 being a low spin driver. The number 4 in the series was the low spin offering previously (TSi4, TSr4, etc) so its strange they are shuffling the deck a bit here.
